The field included shoe company teams from all three major circuits from all over the east coast, as well as some of the top independent teams in the country as well.
Here’s a look at part two of some of the standouts from the DMV teams in attendance.
Emmanuel Kanga | 6’9” C | DC Premier 16U
Kanga is perhaps the most intriguing prospect that I watched at the Southern Jamfest, as he is a prospect who will turn eyes easily moving forward with his athleticism and tools. The 6’9” big man runs the floor like a gazelle and he’s super explosive as a finisher and a rebounder, he is a monster on the glass and a natural rim protector and he still has a ton of room to improve moving forward.
Omari Witherspoon Omari Witherspoon 6'4" | CG St. John's | 2025 State MD | 6’3” PG | DC Premier 16U
Witherspoon was one of the main reasons that Premier made their run to the Southern championship, as he was great all weekend but super spectacular in the semifinal and championship as well. The 6’3” lead guard showed his smooth athleticism as he got up and down and made plays in transition, he showed his elite passing ability and hit guys on a dot regularly, he made shots from multiple levels and was excellent in the midrange and he showed his athleticism on both ends of the floor.
Riley Jacobs | 6’7” PF | New World 16U
Jacobs wasn’t there for the first few games, but he still earned his way on this list due to his production and the way he impacts the game for his team when he’s on the floor. Jacobs may be a little undersized from a traditional standpoint, but that doesn’t stop him from dominating the game as he plays with a high motor and great energy, he attacks the glass and has great touch around the rim, he can step out to the elbows and is a good playmaker and he is super efficient as a scorer as well.
Eric Reibe Eric Reibe 7'0" | C Bullis | 2025 State #82 Nation MD | 6’10” C | New World 16U
Reibe has turned a lot of heads so far in the spring, and it’s easy to see why as the 6’10” German native has a lot of tools and upside that coaches should absolutely be intrigued by. He has great size and he moves well for his size and age so far, he uses his body well to create space and has good touch with both hands around the rim, he is a good athlete who can get above the rim when he needs to and he has touch out to the three-point line too.
Aiden Argabright | 6’1” PG | New World 16U
Argabright is the straw that stirs the drink for this New World team, as he’s the floor general for the group but is also the guy who can make things happen when thing breakdown as well. He has great command of the game and he can handle pressure with his handle and poise, he changes speeds well and directions well and touches the paint at will, he can score the ball from all three levels when he needs to and he’s very good at drawing contact and getting to the line as well.
Cam Ward | 6’7” F | Team Durant 16U
Ward is considered the best prospect in the 2025 class in the DMV area, and he showed why with his big time performances against high level competition with his talented Durant squad at Southern. At 6’7” he’s a positionless player who can play and guard multiple positions effortlessly, he has a good handle and can breakdown defenders off the bounce, he has good size to finish around the rim and through contact and he has good feel and makes the right play consistently for his team.
