For this series of articles, I will be taking a look into each conference to see where some seniors are headed to play. These might not be everyone playing at the next level, these are guys who have announced it or that I’ve been able to find. Some of these players have yet to finalize their decision. There are tons of more players who will be playing at the next level too.
Brooklyn Hicks Brooklyn Hicks 6'3" | CG Timberline | 2023 State #168 Nation WA – Timberline HS
Brooklyn is one of the top players in the entire state of Washington. He controls the pace of the game at an extremely high level. He drives with both hands very well, keeping his dribble close to his body with either hand. He shoots the ball at a high percentage and will have his game translate to the next level with ease. He’s headed to UNLV next season.
Will Landram Will Landram 6'6" | SF Gig Harbor | 2023 State WA – Gig Harbor HS
Will has a very complete game. He can play inside or outside very effectively, having great footwork in the post and solid handles on the perimeter. He has a lot of confidence in his game, as he should. He can hit the outside shot very well and not many players matched up well against his 6’6″ frame. Will is going to be staying local and attending the University of Washington.
Luke Browne Luke Browne 6'6" | SG Gig Harbor | 2023 State WA – Gig Harbor HS
The other big time scoring threat for Gig Harbor was Browne. Luke is a very good shooter, especially from deep. He hits the three at a high effective rate and can step 3-4 feet beyond the line and sink it with ease, even if it is contested. He plays defense nicely as well, using his frame to his advantage. Luke has yet to announce where he is headed to play, but I am confident he will play at the next level.
Wesley Bjornsgard Wesley Bjornsgard 6'4" | SF Capital | 2023 State WA – Capital HS
Wesley is a gritty wing/guard who gives it his all every time he’s on the court. He’s a well rounded player who can do everything effectively. He attacks the ball strong and finds his open teammates who are open. He plays tough defense as he’s not afraid to play tight on the ball carrier. Wesley will be attending Tacoma CC.
KeVaughn Harvey KeVaughn Harvey 6'2" | CG Gig Harbor | 2023 State WA – Gig Harbor HS
KeVaughn is the facilitator for the Tides’ offense and he does it very well. He can handle the ball very well, being shifty with the ball in his hands. He gets to the rim with either hand smoothly and has a great body frame that should translate nicely to the next level. Harvey will be attending Tacoma CC.
Trevontay Smith Trevontay Smith 6'0" | CG Yelm | 2023 State WA – Yelm HS
Trevontay is a 3 sport athlete who excels at all 3, in my eyes. I think he has the ability to play basketball, football or run track at the next level. He is a shifty guard who can get to the bucket at a high level. He shoots at a high percentage and can lead his team on the court very nicely. I am not entirely sure what Smith’s plan is, but he does hold an offer to run track at Eastern Washington next year.
