SubscribeThe most prominent club team in the State of Nevada is Vegas Elite. The Program led by director Brian Sitter competes on the Prestigious EYBL Circuit and has produced countless numbers of successful college and pro players. Mimicing the High School Club, the Middle school program is Nationally recognized, competes against some of the top grassroots programs in the state, and has developed a reputation for developing the next crop of Grassroots superstars. Their 2027 team features a new crop of future prep stars, looking to bridge the gap between past and present, while simultaneously auditioning for a coveted spot on next year’s EYBL squad. I popped in on the club ahead of their trip to California for a weekend tournament to check them out. Here’s a look at the Vegas Elite Basketball Club.

Nikolov has a reputation for being a sniper and he didn’t disapoint during this workout. It looks like he has added muscle to his upper frame, without negatively impacting his shooting stroke. He has as a compact and consistent shot, that looks identical when he shoots it in catch and shoot or 1 dribble action. He has a shot to enter his freshman season as one of his state’s highest ranked players in the class.

First time I’ve had a chance to lay eyes on Dannels, if he shoots like he did on this day, it won’t be the last. He wasn’t even moving the net. He’s a long, rangy player that can serve as a solid floor spacer. He didn’t have the quickest delivery, but it was consistent and accurate. Dannels is an intriguing prospect that showed unique finishing ability in transition and off a few dribble drives.

Anderson is a player that I was laying eyes on for the first time. He caught the ire of his coach for forgetting the plays, however he showed that he has a lot of potential. The PG has good quickness, and showed that he can be a lock down on ball defender.

I was really impressed with Stewart. He’s raw but I like his upside. He seemed like a natural competitor in both the drills and during 5 on 5 play. He’s a big strong kid that showed good agility and finishing ability during the half court offense portion. He backed that up with a few finishes, and several extra effort plays during the 5 on 5 portion.

Price looks like a clear x Factor for the team. He has decent positional size and several backcourt skills. He played primarily with the ball in his hand during 5 on 5, initiating the half court offense. During both half court offense and 5 on 5 competition he showed that he can knock down shots in catch and shoot situations. He was vocal and active in full court pressure, if he plays on ball defense with those same skills, he could become a valuable two way perimeter player for the team.

Parker may have thrown his hat into the ring for a top 5 state Ranking in his class. Despite the scrimmage taking place against older kids, he was the most physically imposing player on the floor, but it was his motor that impressed. He dominated the 5 on 5 action, getting steals and showing enough ball skills to go coast to coast. He’s a bit of a tweener and doesn’t jump that high, he just seemed to have a knack for moving faster and jumper higher than the people guarding him.

I’ve gotten to see a lot of Popoola recently, so I wasn’t there to see him as much, however it’s hard to ignore his talent and compeitiveness.. During a seemingly flawless rep in an innocous half court offense set simulation he was visably upset with himself for forgetting to get back and balance the floor. Its small details like this that also highlight his knowledge of the game. He has a smoothness about his offensive game and it showed as he could be caught gliding to the rim for transition finishes.

Like his twin brother I had gotten a look at EJ during the Spring. On this day, The long armed guard was active, causing havoc in VE’s full court press. He has the potential to be a great off the ball defender, because of his length and insitncts, as he used both to get some defelections and steals. I’m also intriguied by his offensive development, as he translated a nice floater, that he worked on in drills, into an accurate weapon during the 5 on 5 portion.
