Continue ReadingA talented 6-6 forward who impacts the game on both ends of the floor, Stroud was one of the best players on the floor in Prep’s win over All-Wisconsin over the weekend. He has really good hands and is strong on the glass on both ends, is a good enough ball-handler to lead the break after pulling down a defensive rebound, and is a good passer out of the high post area who sees the floor well. He showed a strong face-up game with range comfortably out to about 15 feet as well as good footwork and touch around the rim. On the defensive end he does a great job fighting through screens and he rotates well as a help defender, contesting shots at a high clip.
Highlights
A quick lefty point guard who operates well in ball screen actions, Dunbar is able to get into the paint at a high clip and finish. He has great body control around the rim and is able to absorb contact. He showed that he can shoot it off the catch, and he moves his feet well on the defensive end and has quick hands.
Highlights
Andrew Davenport
Andrew Davenport
Davenport is a confident shooter off the catch who moves well without the ball in his hands. He has a smooth, repeatable stroke and plenty of range. He’s a good secondary ball-handler and does a great job passing into the shooting pocket of his teammates so that they’re able to quickly get their shot off.
Carson Rummel
Carson Rummel
Rummel was fairly quiet for most of their game against All-Wisconsin, but caught fire late, knocking down a pair of huge 3-pointers late in the game to give them a lead. His stroke is a little funky, but he’s a confident shooter who knocked down shots both off the dribble and the catch.
MuTula Joseph
MuTula Joseph
Joseph does a good job sitting in his stance on the defensive end and moving his feet. He’s a good athlete with decent length that he uses to cover a lot of ground, and he competes hard on the glass on both ends of the floor. He’s able to get to the bucket and the free-throw line at a fairly high clip.
Kylar Whitman
Kylar Whitman
A big man with good size and strength, Whitman showed soft hands and good touch around the rim. He sets hard screens and rolls hard to the rim for finishes, making himself big and visible.
Hughes was an absolute flamethrower in Prep’s win over All-Wisconsin, knocking down four first half 3-pointers en route to a team-high 20 points. He’s a high-level shooter off the catch who moves really well without the ball in his hands. He has a quick release and has his feet squared on the catch at all times, ready to get his shot up. After the defense started to close out harder on him, he looked to attack more, getting into the paint and either scoring or finding an open teammate. He’s a solid defender who will also rebound well on both ends of the floor.
Abdi Hamisi
Abdi Hamisi
Hamisi had a solid game on both ends of the floor, showing the ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. He does a good job using ball fakes to temporarily freeze the defender and get into the paint, where he’s a solid finisher. He does a great job putting constant pressure on opposing defenses and getting to the free-throw line at a high rate. He’s a good athlete who works hard on the defensive end and competes hard on the glass.
