The Gatorade player of the year in New York was well deserved. With the sportswriters he was a no brainer first team all state player. With high D1 offers from the power conferences. The first thing you notice about V J is his athleticism. But as you watch him you realize he has a high skill set to add to the explosive game he possesses. A three level scorer. An added plus to his impressive game is his ability and desire to defend. A ball hawk and terrific at coming off the weak side to alter shots. A super talent. Will be a ESPN performer regularly when is college career gets started.
Dynamic in the open floor. First team all CHSAA. Already signed for North Carolina. Elusive handle. Combines quickness and smoothness to score at the rim. High basketball IQ. In the half court he is able to get into the teeth of the defense and score in a variety of ways. Can score from any spot on the floor. Has the court awareness to draw defenders and then blow by them or set up a teammate for a bucket. Uses his length and quickness in guarding the ball.
What makes this first team so impressive is the 3 players on it that are coming back next year for their senior season, Boogie as he is known is one of them. A legitimate three level scorer. With unlimited range. Creates a space for himself to score. Has a potent side step or step back three. All his jump shots show the same fluid motion. He has great lift and a great rotation with the ball coming out of his hand. A complete player in all aspects of the game. He can run the team or take over the game. A leader. A first team all CHSAA player. A do it all major talent.
Our first senior mentioned is the CHSAA player of the year. If you’ve been following me these last three years you know how much I love this young players game. The future Marist college player is a leader on the court and off. A tremendous three point shooter. For his early years he was a deadly shooter from the top of the key. He is now a three point specialist from any spot on the floor. Possesses a good handle and body control to get inside and score in many different ways, extremely crafty scorer. A tremendous rebounding guard who can go up and get it, lead the break, and then finish it himself or drop a dime. Great court vision and awareness. Look forward to watching his career develop.

Has committed to LIU Brooklyn. He has a great frame. A three level scorer. With his ability to score the ball in different ways plus his desire to rebound and defend he gives the Blackbirds a player who can play a wing, SF or PF position. Also in an era of positionless basketball he fits in really well with his size and skill level.
We bring you last but not least the Sportswriters player of the year. Jayden Reid Jayden Reid 5’10” | PG LuHi | 2023 State #119 Nation NY a complete point player. A three levell scorer who impacts the game in many different ways. As I’ve said before in my reports on him he is an incredible passer. His court vision and awareness is high level. Extremely fast north south player but understands the importance of changing speeds and direction. Can get into the lane and score it or dish it off. The ball seems to be on a string not only when he handles it but also with his passes. Can zip it through defenders or make a flashy bounce pass or finesse it down the length of the floor. Has committed to University of South Florida. Excited to watch his next chapter of his basketball journey.
