The small town guard got it going early in a Sunday morning by finding openings in the defense to get to the rim. After that success got him going, he shot it well in the second half victory for Primetime. This weekend was more proof that Rogers has the size, skill and athleticism that the success he has for Fort Cobb-Broxton translates to a higher level.
One of the best shooting displays of the event came on Sunday morning. The first note on Lawson was a reference for the wing’s scoring off a post up. But it was quickly followed with a barrage of three pointers. Catch and shot opportunities. A pump fake to a closing out of a defender followed by nailing a stepback triple. The Texas prospect even got it going in the mid-range with a fadeaway. If Sunday was any indication, Lawson is a big time shot maker.
Highlights
Continuing the theme of players that can fill it up from deep, Yearby was a flamethrower from beyond the arc in Griffin EYBL Select’s semifinal win on Saturday. That’s a familiar role for him after a Class 6A State Championship with Edmond North. But the longer guard has a little more to his game, with a mid-range game, and an improving game off the bounce. Which should be critical as he steps into a bigger role for his final high school season.
Merkv Torrance

Some players have the “It” factor when it comes to being a “hooper”. Torrance is a great example of that with the ease and variety of ways he scores. He sets defenders up with dribble moves, and is smooth when attacking the rim. He was a key factor in a Sunday afternoon comeback victory, including calmly draining a pull up 3 to tie it in the final minute.
Cedric Richardson

The smaller guard was one of the best defenders at the event. From hounding ball handlers and forcing turnovers, to getting on the floor for loose balls, Richardson makes winning plays. The toughness simply oozes off the play of the hard-nosed guard.
While Ledbetter can hit from distance, his ability to find ways to score off drives remains very impressive for a smaller guard. One benefit is his strength, and solid burst, when it comes to taking contact around the rim. Which also shows up when he’s grabbing offensive rebounds. He was a menace off the bounce in the semifinal victory for his squad on Sunday.
