Martin Arrives in the Second Half For Team Haliburton
Team Haliburton got off to a really slow start — as teams often do on Saturday morning. Dominican 2024 guard Jaiden Martin Jaiden Martin 6'1" | CG Dominican | 2024 State WI had a big second half to lead his team to victory.
Haliburton would eventually blow out Chicago Lockdown. Martin bullied his way into the paint for some tough finishes, getting defenders in the air and powering through contact. He also ran the point guard spot very well, finding open shooters after turning the corner in the pick n’ roll, forcing the help defense to show early. Haliburton blew the game open thanks to their tenacious full court press. Martin was a factor there as well, anticipating in the passing lanes and creating a few turnovers.
Playing on a squad that features a lot of 2025 talent, Martin showed the poise and leadership to get his team over a hump and power through a rough stretch.
PGC Fights Back, but Falls to Indiana Elite, Bounces Back
In one of the most anticipated matchups of the day, Wisconsin Playground Club made things interesting in a loss to Indiana Elite. Trailing by double digits most of the second half, PGC got things within a score late.
2025 wing Amari Allen was fantastic in the second half. Allen scored 19 of his 21 points after halftime. The former Kaukauna star, who’s now at IMG Academy, couldn’t be stopped going to his left hand. Allen also got downhill at will in the pick n’ roll, making things happen at the rim for himself and others.
2025 center Kai Rogers Kai Rogers 6'10" | C Wauwatosa West | 2025 State #41 Nation WI also keyed the comeback effort. The Wauwatosa West standout blocked everything around the rim and wiped a ton of points off the board. A highly athletic big man who can really run the floor, Rogers also had 3-4 transition dunks in the second half alone.
PGC would rebound and win their last two games of the day. In the Gold quarterfinals, PGC rallied late to knock off All-Ohio Red.
Wisconsin Squads Battle in Fort Wayne
In the first round of the silver division playoffs, we got to see 24UP take on MTXE Premier. There was definitely some respectful chippiness and trash talking between the two Wisconsin squads when they took the floor.
MTXE would hang on for a 60-56 victory Saturday night. Once again, junior guard Connor Roffers Connor Roffers 6'5" | SF Burlington | 2024 State WI (Burlington) looked very sharp. Continue to be impressed with the three-level, decisive scoring ability from the 6-foot-5 wing. Roffers also had a key assist in crunch time that helped MTXE pull out the victory. Had always been high on Roffers as a shooter, but he’s taken his all-around offensive game to another level. I’d expect some serious Division 2 interest over the next several months.
Aiden Krause Aiden Krause 6'4" | SF Muskego | 2024 State WI , who’s had a big spring, played really well for 24UP. The 6-foot-4 forward just finds ways to get the ball into high percentage areas and score around the rim. There’s nothing real flashy about what he does. Krause just puts himself in positions to be successful, reads his teammates and the defense, and can catch very well in traffic. One of the easiest ways to score, but also one of the hardest things to teach — Krause’s constant movement on the floor and mobility put him in various positions on the floor and eventually gets defenders uncomfortable.
Fenderson Trending Upwards
Caught Wisconsin Playground Club’s 15U squad Saturday night. A player to definitely monitor is LatreVion Fenderson.
While he’s a 2025 prospect, Fenderson is only 15 years old. The 6-foot-4 wing has a very advanced body type, even for his class. Put him with his age group and he does some things that look like a man playing amongst boys.
Fenderson has taken off athletically and had some eye-opening moments where he exploded above the rim. When Fenderson gets two feet in the paint, he’s looking to attack the rim with a reckless abandonment. Love the defensive versatility that Fenderson has as well. He’s going to be a guy that can effectively guard four positions with his blend of length, strength, and lateral quickness.
Definitely think this is a prospect that I have undervalued right now in the rankings.
Highlights
Strong, Consistent Weekend For Davis
Speaking of undervalued, the most under-ranked prospect in Wisconsin’s 2025 class right now might be Chris Davis Jr. I left this weekend thinking that I’ve absolutely dogged this kid, even after a big sophomore season.
Playing with Power 5, Davis had an extremely solid weekend. On Saturday, he hit some big shots down the stretch in a tough loss to Spiece Indy Heat. Throughout the tournament, Davis was consistent as a shooter, rebounder, and playmaker. Loved his ability to shoot the ball in transition, particularly off the step-back. He’s got some of his dad’s smooth on-ball shooting in him where Davis uses that big frame to get defenders thinking dribble-drive, only to see Davis stop on a dime and effortlessly get into his jumper even after all his momentum is going downhill.
Davis is listed at 6-foot-3, but plays closer to 6-foot-5. He’s a fearless attacker at the rim that drew a ton of fouls and converted three-point play opportunities. Look for a sizable jump from Davis in the next rankings update.
