Castor displayed this winter that he is one of the top 8th graders in the state. This summer playing up in 16u and 17u he has adjusted perfectly fine in nearly all aspects of the game. His ability to create off the bounce and on the attack is second to none in regards to 2027’s statewide. He can break defenders off the dribble and finish through and around contact at the rim. He’s very good at absorbing contact at the rim and still converting on tough layups with added touch and finesse. Or will slide right through the lane and finish a tough layup.
Jakeyce Fowler
Jakeyce Fowler
Fowler is another prospect to look out for in North Star’s incoming class. Playing up this summer as well he has more will see a lot more action from the wing and the perimeter but you can tell he played some forward recently by his ability to finish at the rim off two feet. He’s got a good looking jumper from the left side and can knock down open triples and from time to time a step back. His ability to handle it and see cutters and teammates is another aspect of his game that I really liked. I look forward to watching him continue to develop as he is another young United player playing up this summer.
Will Schafer
Will Schafer
Schafer is coming off a solid freshman season and a state berth with the Gators this past winter and looks to continue that momentum through this summer. I really like Schafer as more of a bigger guard. He is an able ball handler, not going to do too much but can create space to get his jumper off. He’s going to exploit mismatches with smaller guards. With his jumper having a higher release point it is tuff for guards he has size advantage on to get a contest. He will post up smaller guards as well and can create shots when he has his back to the basket and finish with his soft touch.
Braylon Owens
Braylon Owens
Owens provides some interior play for a fairly guard heavy Nebraska United team. He provides some rebounding on both ends. When he catches on the perimeter he uses his quick first step to get by his man. Works to get positioning down low when he is on the block and plays with some physicality down there. With some added touch Owens can be a big time threat in the post for United and their guard centric offense.
Brady Nick
Brady Nick
Nick provides a solid shooting stroke for a loaded United team along with some good decision making with the ball in his hand. He moves well off the ball and doesn’t force many shots although he’s got a nice jumper. He finds soft spots in zones and looks to attack the rim off of cuts. He’s got some touch on his finishes and is an active off ball defender.
