Adam Calvert Adam Calvert 6'4" | SG Hickman Highschool | 2024 MO (Hickman): A 6’3″ guard who displayed smooth handles and a nice feel for the game during the event. He was also getting buckets from all three levels. He was moving the ball up court with tempo and scoring on slashing drives. He hit a nice turnaround jumper in the lane and he drained 3-pointers off the catch.
*****
Kieran Wors Kieran Wors 6'4" | PG Union | 2024 MO (Union): A 6’4″ wing player with good size and good playmaking ability with his versatile skill set. He is a talented offensive player but he is under control and he doesn’t try to force things. He lets the game come to him. He creates off the dribble well and he can stop and pop from the mid-range area.
*****
Ahmaad Ba (DeSmet): It was my first time seeing this 6’1″ 2024 guard and I was very impressed with his athleticism and overall skill level. He has good length and he played with a lot of activity. He was slashing to the basket for buckets and pulling up for mid-range jumpers. He was an excellent playmaker on the offensive and defensive ends.
*****
D.J. Long (Mexico): A 6’0″ point guard who has good quickness and displayed tremendous amounts of burst to get into the lane and get buckets. He is a tough cover because he can break down defenders off the dribble with his speed while also being able to knock down perimeter jumpers.
*******
Josiah Griffith Josiah Griffith 5'11" | SG HIckman | 2024 State MO (Hickman): A 5’11” guard who displayed a very smooth shooting stroke from 3-point range. If he had the time and space, he was knocking them down from long distance. When defenders closed out on him, he made good use of the ball fake to make a move off the dribble to compliment his shooting.
******
Marquan Haynes (St. Mary’s): A 6’0″ guard with a powerful body and a high motor at both ends of the court. His will his physical presence on opposing players with his on-ball defensive pressure and strong takes to the basket on the offensive end. He also knocked down a good percentage of his 3-pointers in the two games I watched him.
