There were 3 sections to the event, the skills section, the 3 on 3 portion, and then the games. These are the 5 best players in my opinion that were in attendance.
Elliott LaMotte
Elliott LaMotte
Elliott was the most vocal player on the court. His leadership on the court both on offense and defense was impossible to miss. Elliott probably had the basketball IQ on the court. Directing traffic and helping make sure no one was standing around on offense, encouraging his teammates to speak up on defense as well. Although Elliott isn’t going to be your leading scorer his hustle, defense, effort, and movement and screen setting ability makes him just as valuable to any team on the court.
William Meyer
William Meyer
William was one of the best defensive players at the event. His ability to defend both off and on the ball, play help defense, block shots, and rebound really stood out. William has great ball handling skills at 6’5″ with the ability to grab a rebound and take it coast to coast, or simply just his ability to run the floor allows him opportunities for easy layups. On offense William is great in the low post and has a variety of ways to finish down low in the post. Not only that but he is great at relocating to give the person driving an easy pass for an easy layup. Any coach looking for a center with tons of upside should be looking at William.
Nasir Snell
Nasir Snell
Nasir really impressed me with his soft touch and ability to finish around the rim as well as his ability to knock down 3 pointers consistently. He has great handles and is able to get to the rim and finish a variety of ways making it look easy. His shooting form is really nice as well which allows him to knock 3’s down with ease. Any coach looking for a pure scorer who can create his own shots should be looking at Nasir.
Sincere Thompson
Sincere Thompson
Sincere really impressed me with his physicality and fearlessness. He was one of the most aggressive finishers and could take it coast to coast through 3 defenders and contact and still convert. His aggressiveness really stood out. He has great ball handling abilities and ability to run the offense really stood out. He is also great at pushing the pace and attacking in transition, making the right read on whether to dish it or take it himself.
Nathanael Tompkins
Nathanael Tompkins
Nathanael really impressed me with his finishing ability. He can finish with both hands in a variety of ways. His ability to move to open space screen for others both off and on the ball, getting teammates open, as well as himself really stood out. Whenever Nathanael had the opportunity to score he took advantage at the rim and by occasionally knocking down the open shot.
