Here were the freshman standouts/Part-2:
Chris King Chris King 6'2" | SG AZ Compass Prep | 2026 State AZ Queen Creek (UH Elite 15) (Pictured)
A top notch on-ball defender. He is an athletic guard who will sit down and defend. He is very fast laterally with quick hands and feet. He can hit the three and is also good on the break scoring in transition. Look for him to contribute on varsity more this season.
David Howard-Johnson David Howard-Johnson 6'0" | SG AZ Compass Prep | 2026 State AZ AZ Compass Prep (UH Elite 15)
A scoring guard who likes getting downhill. He takes long strides to the basket and moves without the ball often to free himself. He has a polished floater game and can catch and shoot plus step back with range on his defender. He has long arms to get deflections and steals.
Sebastian Hatsakorzian Sebastian Hatsakorzian 6'3" | SF St. Mary's | 2026 State AZ Chaparral (UH Elite 15)
A strong wing forward who plays the game the right way. He moves the ball, gets downhill, defends in space and inside the paint with his strength. He also doesn’t need the ball to make a difference in the game with all the little things he does to affect the outcome.
Bryson Krueger II Bryson Krueger II 6'2" | SF Basha | 2026 State AZ Basha (AZ Grassroots 15)
A long wing can score it. He takes very few strides to get to the rim and can rip thru and score with his left or hand. He can hit the catch three with a high arcing ball and uses his length in the passing lanes.
Some others to monitor for the 2026 class
DeShaun Hendrix DeShaun Hendrix 6'0" | SF Hamilton | 2026 State AZ Hamilton (AZ Grassroots 15)
A physical Draymond Green type has deep three range and can get downhill with his thicker frame. He defends many position and is crafty to make plays for his teammates with very good court vision.
AJ Taylor PG 5’9 Skyline Prep (Firestorm 15)
A quick point guard is a natural scorer. He can hit the three, he has the floater game and has speed to burn in the open court. He moves the ball and is transferring to Skyline Prep from Mountain Pointe.
Cobey Bucco SF 6’1 Mountain Pointe (Firestorm 15)
A skilled wing forward can hit the three, rip thru and will score thru contact. He will score off basic give and go moves and smartly moves without the ball. He is a good passer and is one of many Pride freshmen who have a chance to play varsity next year.
One 8th grader to keep an eye out for
Griffey Williams Griffey Williams 6'0" | SG Basha | 2027 State AZ Basha (UH Elite 14U)
A straight sniper. He has a pretty jumper well beyond the college line already. It is a picture perfect stroke and he gets it off quickly. He is a smart player who moves the ball until the right shot is available. He may start his sophomore year with a big group of seniors most likely to get the bulk of the minutes, but he will be a nice piece to the puzzle with Magee and Summers-Livingston for the future of the program.
