Trenton Gage (Missouri 66ers): A 5’10” 2025 point guard from Joplin who has good quickness and was always in attack mode as he put pressure on opposing defenses. He has good blow-by speed and burst, but he also has a good change of pace that could keep defenders off balance. He could also hit the perimeter jumper if he’s given some space. He was also fierce on the defensive end with his quick hands and ability to move his feet.
Alex Schonhardt Alex Schonhardt 6'1" | SG Helias Catholic | 2025 State MO (Mid Mo Elite): A 6’0″ 2025 guard who was one of the more impressive shooters at the event over the weekend. He did an excellent job of moving without the ball and getting himself open to knock down 3-pointers. He did his work while on the move and was always shot ready.
Dayne Depee Dayne Depee 6'3" | SG Osage | 2025 State MO ‘ (Mid Mo Elite): A 6’3″ 2025 guard from Osage who was impressive offensively as a slasher and perimeter shooter, which made him difficult to guard. The young lefty can get down hill on the drive and can score effectively and he can also pull up and hit the mid-range jumper to compliment it. He can go coast to coast at full speed with the ability to change directions to keep defenders off balance.
David Moore (Hardwood Elite 17U): I covered 16Us for most of the weekend, but I took a peek at some 17U action and saw this talented 6’2″ 2024 guard from St. Dominic. He has impressive strength and he used it well on the drive and when he took smaller guards inside. He could get buckets in the paint in an old-school manner and he was also a very good rebounder from the guards position.
DJ Jeffries (Hardwood Elite 16U): The stout 5’11” 2025 guard from Lafayette is a knock down shooter from 3-point range. He made six 3-pointers in the game that I watched him play. He was running hard on the break to hit transition triples and he was very good off the catch. He could also dart into the passing lanes to convert steals to layups.
Slade Hurd (Missouri 66ers): A 5’11” 2026 guard from Webb City who was playing up a year in the 16U division and he held his own quite well. He was very poised and he did a good job of making plays without forcing the issue. He picked his spots as to when to assert himself as he hit the pull up jumper very well and moved the basketball with his passing ability.
Sam Lopez Sam Lopez 5'9" | PG Helias | 2025 State MO (Mid Mo Elite): A 5’8″ 2025 point guard from Helias who is very solid defensively with his speed and quickness. He penetrates in the lane well and he makes good use of head and shoulder fakes to lift defenders. He did a nice job of making floaters and runners in the lane.
