Player Comments from coach Edman
Luke Olson Luke Olson 5'11" | PG Pierre | 2025 State SD (2025) |5’11” PG| Pierre T.F Riggs
“True PG who can do it all. Great vision, good shooter, and can get to the rim at any point. Good defender and a great rebounder for his size. Played important minutes for the Pierre varsity team last year.“
Nash Peterswn Nash Peterswn 6'1" | SG Harrisburg | 2025 State SD (2025) |6’2” SG| Harrisburg
“Great scorer with unlimited range. Causes a lot of problems on defense with his length.“
Landon Gross Landon Gross 5'11" | CG Sioux Falls Jefferson | 2025 State SD (2025) |5’11” G| Sioux Falls Jefferson
“Good scorer who can score at all 3 levels. Provides excellent ball pressure on defense and will get a lot of steals and push the ball in transition every chance he gets.“
Carter Tetzlaff Carter Tetzlaff 6'0" | SG West Central | 2025 State SD (2025) |6’0” G/Wing| West Central
“Played meaningful minutes for the West Central Varsity team. Great slasher and cutter who can finish at the rim. Also shoot’s the 3 at a high percentage. Has a high motor on defense.”
Liam Schmeichel Liam Schmeichel 6'0" | CG West Central | 2025 State SD (2025) |6’0” G| West Central
“Very long and lanky guard, good athlete who can guard 1-4. Great passer and a good shooter.“
Aaron Rosenberger Aaron Rosenberger 5'10" | CG Harrisburg | 2025 State SD (2025) |5’10” G| Harrisburg
“Does all the little things, hard-nosed defender who is always looking to make the right play on offense and help set up his teammates.“
Beau Leslie Beau Leslie 5'11" | SG Brandon Valley | 2025 State SD (2025) |5’11” G/Wing| Brandon Valley
“Can do it all. One of the best rebounders in his age group in the region despite being undersized. Can guard 1-5, can finish at the rim against anyone, and is a good shooter on the perimeter.”
Braxton Pravecek (2025) |6’1” F| Estelline-Hendricks
“Averaged 11 ppg starting for the Estelline varsity team last season, good shooter from the perimeter but also able to drive and score at the rim.“
Mason Ennis Mason Ennis 6'4" | SF Brandon Valley | 2025 State SD (2025) |6’4” F| Brandon Valley
“It’s his first summer playing AAU basketball and can already tell what a good player he is going to be. Gives 100% on defense every possession, good strong finisher at the rim, and will step out and shoot the 3 if left open.”
Myles Meyer Myles Meyer 6'7" | PF Parker | 2025 State SD (2025) |6’7” C| Parker
“Averaged 6pts/10rb as a starter for the Parker varsity team. Great touch around the rim and a demanding presence inside, also has a nice little mid-range jump shot. Big strong rim-protector who also thinks every rebound on both ends of the court should be his.“
Q&A with Zach Edman
PHD: Why are you excited about this team/roster?
Coach Edman: “We are returning some of our roster from last year as well as adding a couple of exciting players. We have a lot of guys with some great varsity experience and some guys who will be battling to play important roles on their varsity teams next year. Everyone on the team knows how important of a summer it is for their development and is excited to get to work.”
PHD: How often will your team practice/work out?
Coach Edman: “We will have weekly practices in addition to our tournaments. We have some kids who have to travel to get to Sioux Falls for practices so we want to make sure we are maximizing our time with them. As well as giving them the tools and drills to work on in their own time.”
PHD: What will a couple of your strengths be as a team?
Coach Edman: “Shooting the basketball is going to be a real strength of ours. We have guys at every position who can shoot the ball at a high percentage which will put a lot of pressure on the opposing defenses. We also have a lot of good ball handlers so we will be able to quickly get out into transition and push the ball with any number of guys.“
PHD: What style of basketball will you play on the offensive end?
Coach Edman: “For the most part, we want to play a fast-paced motion offense with a lot of cutting and screening. We have so many unselfish players that the more we can drive and get into the paint, the more opportunities it is going to create for our shooters on the perimeter. We will have certain times throughout every game though where we will want to feed our big guys inside and let them go to work.“
PHD: What brand of defense do you foresee your team playing?
Coach Edman: “We will play man defense as a team this summer. We want to put a lot of ball pressure on the offense every time they get the ball and make them uncomfortable every possession of the game. We want to force a lot of turnovers and tough shots and then get the ball to our ballhandlers who can push the court in transition and get easy baskets.“
PHD: What event/tournament are you most looking forward to?
Coach Edman: “We are excited for the Prep Hoops circuit to bring an event to Sioux Falls, so the Stomping Grounds Tournament is definitely one that we are looking forward to playing.“
