12U Top Guards
Ducky Ash | 4’11” | Ops 2029 Black | Woodside (Indiana)
Ash is a member of the Honorable Mention All-Tournament Team for being a top performer all weekend. Although not the tallest player on the court, Ash does a great job controlling his body to get to his spots on the court. He will battle for possessions and was never afraid to throw himself into the mix of a scrum. Ash is a confident shooter but found the most success with his floater around the paint.
Travis Rivers Jr. | Clarksville Crossovers 2029 (Tennessee)
Rivers was also an Honorable Mention member because he has everything you want in a lead guard. He makes plays for his teammates all over the court. Like most competitors at this level, his effort and motivation would rise and fall with the scoreboard. But overall, we liked the competitive spirit that Rivers showed throughout the weekend. Being the primary ball handler, he found opportunities for himself and routinely capitalized on favorable mismatches.
Quin Higgins | 5’1″ | All H.E.A.R.T. Basketball Club 2029 | St. James (Ohio)
Higgins was a key piece of the 5-0 domination the All H.E.A.R.T. team put on over the weekend. Higgins is a confident shooter with plenty of range on his jump shot. Along with Michael Hadley, he found himself often wide open from the playmaking ability of Jack Boland. But there is a difference between being open because the defense schemes it or being open from extra ball movement. More frequently than not, Higgins was open because he made himself available for the pass and made the most of his opportunities. Higgins earned a spot on the Honorable Mention All-Tournament Team.
Demarco Reid | 5’3” | DAWGS Elite 2029 | Campbell Middle (Georgia)
Reid is part of a group of guards that play well together and cause problems for opponents. Reid is a great scorer that showed nice touch on his floater going toward the basket. Against press defense, Reid is a confident ball handler and rarely forced plays to his teammates. He can guard the ball and did a great job of crashing for rebounds.
Illija Paic | 5’5” | Region Force 2029 | Taft Middle School (Indiana)
Paic was the lead guard for his squad this weekend and showed flashes of high-level basketball. Primarily a drive-first guard, Paic has good momentum going downhill and finding scoring lanes. He really shined in the open court scoring several baskets in transition. For Paic to reach the next level, he’ll want to improve his on-ball defense and outside shot. Overall, a competitive but challenging weekend for Paic and his Region Force 2029 team. We expect them to regroup and improve their performance the next time on the court.
Jamauru Benson | Team Flyght Ohio 2029 (Ohio)
