Grit Region Memorial Classic: Shane’s Top New Faces

He was in the first game I watched of the entire weekend and was a pleasent surprise. He is a shorter but stocky guard. He has Avery quick first step and hands. His defense stood out to me the most. He is a pest on defense. He was in defenders shorts and super cleaver when choosing to go for the ball. He got two steals off of the other team inbounding the ball. He accounted for and caused multiple turnovers. He was a very unselfish guard but showed some efficient scoring ability. He's got a nice smooth shot. Got to the rim very well and showed great touch around the rim. He showed next-level court vision when playing. He always knew where everyone was and where to make the next pass. He played as if the game was moving in slow motion. He saw plays developing before they happened. He carried himself with great confidence as well he knew he was playing on a little bit of a higher level than most IQ-wise. He has a good build for a point guard. He got the rim well and made plays when he did. When Jones had the ball in his hands, get your popcorn ready. He was a great playmaker for Midwest. He was a maestro working through the pick-n-roll. He would know when to take himself, hit the roller, or dish it to the help side defender. Jones got a good build and athleticism to his game as well. It allows him to get the defense on his side and back, once he does the game is in his control. He was always rim-running every time he was on the court. He was a monster off the glass on both ends. He has a relentless effort of getting rebounds for Hopson Elite. He got a ton of second-chance points. WIthcer was super strong when finsihing. He would jump into the defense and create the contact rather than shy away from it. He got a nice touch on the ball. He is a strong kid as well.
