2025 All-Tournament Team (from Westland High School)
Guard – Carson Murphy | 6’1” | NOVA Village 2025 Harrington / Twinam | Granville (Ohio)
Murphy gives you a little bit of everything but was most impressive from the perimeter. He is a high-volume usage guard that had his best success being aggressive. Murphy has a great complement of teammates and they feed off his aggressiveness. His scorer’s mentality is what set him apart over the weekend. He was consistently finding ways to get effective and efficient shots up.
Guard – Jordan Hampton | 6’3” | Midwest Basketball Club Southwest 2025 Creamer | Cooper (Kentucky)
Hampton is a drive-first guard that attacks the paint relentlessly. He can use his momentum from a transition opportunity or he can put his head down and force the issue. Hampton plays with great pace, too. We watched him over the course of multiple games and were impressed with his feel for the game. He did a great job absorbing contact but completing most plays around the rim. Hampton was aggressive on the defensive end too by diving for loose balls, using active hands in passing lanes, and snatching rebounds in traffic. Once he gets a little more consistent with his perimeter shooting, he’ll be a dynamic offensive threat.
Wing/Forward – Wyatt Gilleland | 6’5” | Tennessee Edge 2025 | Siegel (Tennessee)
Gilleland was clearly one of the best big wings/forwards of the weekend. He was an immovable force that wreaked havoc in the paint area. Gilleland displayed strong hands to snatch tough, out-of-position rebounds. His offensive skillset is mighty impressive. He has a great feel for the action inside the offensive flow that allows him to deliberately pick spots where to cut, dive, and slash. The eye test checks a lot of boxes… I’m sure the box score will confirm.
Wing/Forward – Brighton Birangui-Booto | 6’4” | MW Bulls – Black | Belleville (Michigan)
Birangui-Booto plays hard and competes for every possession. In a scrum full of 6 or 7 players, Birangui-Booto usually would come away with the ball. He was light on his feet and routinely left his area to go attack the ball. Defensively, he did a great job of helping stop driving lanes and forcing the opponent to pass around him. We watched him block shots along the perimeter, too. Still, raw and evolving his game, look for Birangui-Booto to grow in confidence this summer and return for the July session even more polished.
Wing/Forward – Roman Crosby | 6’4” | Midwest Basketball Club Central 2025 Banaszak | Reynoldsburg (Ohio)
Crosby was an unstoppable force in the paint. He is a physical forward that uses his shoulders to ward off wimpy opponents and his athleticism to find clear air. He was consistently using footwork and patience to create the space needed to get a clean look at the rim. As teams begin to gameplan against his post presence, look for Crosby to begin stretching out to the mid-game area. That will be his next phase of development.
