There were over 60 courts set up in the massive space. Among the programs in attendance were several of the top independent teams from the state of Indiana which we obviously focused on during our time in Louisville. Let’s dive on in and take a look at eight prospects from the Hoosier state who really stood out over the course of the weekend.
There aren’t many prospects who have done more to raise their stock this spring than this 6’4″ athletic wing from South Bend Riley High School. Baird has become a very good three-point shooting threat to pair with his athleticism in the open floor and high ceiling on the defensive end. Most importantly, he has impacted winning with Indiana Game Black going 5-1, 4-0, and 4-0 during three events in the month of April. At the Grassroots Showcase he 13.5 points per game to lead the team.
In terms of pure athleticism, Hall is among the very best in the state of Indiana. He is a standout in football, track & field, and obviously on the hardwood as well. Down in Louisville the point guard had his physical tools on full display consistently dominating in transition, getting to the rim off of the dribble, and showcased an improving outside shot. Hall averaged 18.3 points per game for DI Indiana 2025.
You can’t talk about Indiana prospects at the Grassroots Showcase without highlighting Evan Haywood. The 6’4″ guard continues to have a breakout spring for Progeny 2024 and is solidifying himself as one of the best pure shooters in the class. Hawyood averaged 24 points per game on the weekend while making 18 three-pointers in four games. He will continue to attract more and more eyes of college coaches if he can keep up his strong play.
Highlights
Malcolm Houze
Malcolm Houze
This up-and-coming prospect put up some big time scoring performances over the weekend while leading Indiana Elite Central 2025 to a perfect 4-0 record. Houze, a 6’1″ guard, averaged 16.8 points per game while connecting on 11 three-pointers in their our games. One to watch the rest of this spring and summer.
Howell continues to prove himself as one of the best pure scorers in Indiana’s Class of 2024. The dynamic 5’7″ point guard was consistently putting the ball in the basket for DI Indiana 2024 over the weekend averaging 14.3 points per game. He is an outstanding shooter, creates separation to score on the pull-up or with a floater in the intermediate range, and is a creative finisher at the end of his drives.
Ezekiel Kirby
Ezekiel Kirby
A thin, left-handed guard that can really stroke it from beyond the arc, Kirby was filling it up throughout the weekend at the Grassroots Showcase. In the three games in which stats were available, he averaged 21.3 points per game and made 16 three-point shots. His best performance was saved for last 29 points on seven three-pointers to cap off his high-scoring weekend.
Logan Pokorney
Logan Pokorney
Pokorney burst onto the scene this weekend by pouring in 29 points to start play off and continued turning in solid performances for Region Force Elite 2026. The 6’3″ shooter from Chesterton had a couple of big-time shooting performances and showed his ability to create off of the dribble as well.
In terms of raw numbers, there may not have been an Indiana prospect with a more productive weekend than Roseman. The talented playmaker not only led Indiana Elite Aldridge 2026 to a perfect 5-0 record, but he did so while averaging 19.6 points per game. Roseman is an excellent playmaker off of the dribble with an advanced mid-range game and real unselfishness despite being a go-to scoring threat.
