O’maundre Harris
The talent was top-heavy in Hampton this weekend and few shined the way that Harris did, the most impressive player I saw all weekend without question. Harris is quick and skillful, able to attack defenses in a number of ways and at times, it felt like Harris could get wherever he wanted to. He averaged 19.5 PPG on the weekend including a 31-point outing against Wood Elite who eventually won it all. Harris recently signed a D2 scholarship to play at Virginia Union.
Omar Banks Jr
Omar Banks Jr
As I quickly came to learn, Omar Banks has been tearing up the Big Shots circuit all spring and continued much of the same in Hampton. Banks is the full package, a 6’5 wing that can handle the rock and score from all three levels. The lefty has a smooth stroke on his jumper and showed a lot of consistency from beyond the arc. He earned Game MVP honors on multiple occasions and averaged over 15 PPG. Schools still in need of 2023 wings should take a serious look at Banks.
Tyler Donald
Tyler Donald
Tyler Donald had a great weekend in Hampton, a quick little point guard for Allentown Pressure who turned out to be one of my favorite teams to follow. Donald thrives in a fast-paced game and that’s exactly what Allentown implemented all weekend. Donald is quick to leak out after rebounds or turnovers and scored a ton of points in transition. He’s creative in the ways that he can finish around bigger defenders at the rim. If there’s one thing I know after watching Donald play, it’s that he’s too talented to hang it up after this summer.
Gabriel Harrison
Gabriel Harrison
Another talented 2023 for the Allentown Pressure, Gabriel Harrison made his presence felt inside and played really well in the 2-man game with either Tyler Donald or Jamir Brooks. Harrison operated well as the roll man and scored in the pick and roll on several occasions. He’s physical around the paint too, not afraid t throw his body around. The low post game even showed prowess as well. All in all, Harrison was one of the most impactful players we saw all weekend.
Steven Stinson Steven Stinson 6’5″ | SF John Marshall | 2023 State VA had some really impressive flashes of talent this weekend that simply couldn’t be ignored. While I would have liked to see him assert his dominance more often, Stinson was the difference-maker at times for the Virginia Havoc. He’s a bulky 6’6 forward that impacts both ends of the floor. It starts with rebounding and physical defense but Stinson also showed some impressive passing and the ability to step out and hit the three. Stinson saw a lot of recruiting love early in his high school career but currently remains unsigned to my knowledge.
