There was high level talent in the building. At the biggest event thus far in the 2023 circuit season, these prospects gave us all a snippet of what is in store for the summer. In wins and losses players gave it their all and competed at the highest level in grassroots basketball. Here below are some of the names that showed up and showed out at Prep Hoops Next “Battle Of The Lakes”.
Evan Carter | Minnesota Fury
Carter was reliable as a post playmaker, he gave the Minnesota Fury a reliable source of scoring in the painted area. When doubled he was able to find the open man at a high level. Carter played a major role in the success of his team.
D’anthony Brown | WI Playground Club
Brown was impactful for Wisconsin Playground Club on both ends of the floor. He has a knack for snatching boards and pushing the tempo from the forward position. Most impressive was his attack from the high post area, where he made countless trips to the line and finished at the rim all weekend.
Caesar Bond | WI Playground Elite
Bond was a bruiser in the paint and his presence was felt all weekend long. He filled the lanes very well in transition and showed a soft touch in the post. His activity was impactful Wisconsin Playground Club.
Willie Roelofs | Team Tyus
Roelofs was versatile as a floor spacer as well as a target in the paint. His presence in the paint defensively steered away shots. His movement on both ends of the floor made for a great showing for Team Tyus.
Deion James | Minneapolis Central
James was a beast in the paint that required a lot of help defense. He was a huge target for Minneapolis Central and a reliable source of scoring in the paint. Most impressive was his hard nose mentality and willingness to absorb contact on both ends.
Kalin Jochum | Minnesota Fury
Jochum did most of his damage in the mid post area for the Minnesota Fury. The stocky forward used his body well when finishing around the basket. Most impressive was his touch from range as he stretched the floor on a consistent basis.
