Stars Basketball Club 16u UA Rise traveled to Rock Hill, South Carolina the final weekend of April. Just before lunch on the first of May, @PrepHoopsTN was able to catch up with 16u Head Coach Aaron Morrison about the experience with a sharp focus on the final game of the trip, Sunday against Texas Summitt.
Texas Summitt (67) vs. Stars 16u (94)
All words below are quotes from Coach Morrison, unless they are italicized.
Cade Capps Cade Capps 6'5" | SG Stone Memorial | 2025 State #210 Nation TN was good. He had 14 points, 11 rebounds. He played really well. Shot it well. Double-double. He was shooting 2-6 from three. Below his average, but still shot it well. Most of his 2-point makes…he does a really good job of dribbling into a post-up and having a really good touch. He had a few of those where he would attack the gap, get into space.
This was his first weekend with us. He had 15 points, 10 rebounds in that game. He was 6-10 from the field. Did a little bit of everything. A couple of good finishes through traffic. Got to the rim and finished. He was really good. He hit a shot from the perimeter, foot on the line. Ran the floor well. Had some unbelievable blocked shots.
What is Myles’ role with you guys?
He plays on the perimeter for us. He plays the guard, wing spot for us. We have 8-9 guards. We play 5-out and wide spacing, so he gets to the play on the perimeter with us and does really good job. He is 6’6″. He is tall. Really good length.
Room for improvement?
Continue to become a more confident shooter from the perimeter. And decision making when attacking gaps. Deciding whether to pass or shoot, or come to a stop on two. Reading defensive rotations and making proper decisions.

He had 25 points yesterday. He led us in scoring this weekend. He averaged a little over 20 ppg. Yesterday he didn’t shoot it well, and that is usually what he does really well. He was 8-8 from 2. This weekend that was what he did (got to the rim). He did a great job getting to the rim and finishing. Doing a little bit of everything. Acted primary ball-handler this weekend. I wanted to get him a shot to do that more. And see him grow in areas that he wants to grow in.
UA session 2:
4 games played: Avg 20ppg, 68.4% from 2, 50% from 3, 88% Ft, 3.5 rbs, 1.5 steals
Game 1 21 point
Game 2 17 point
Game 3 18 point
Game 4 25 point
This kid is different. He is unbelievable. He is the spark that makes the engine go, especially defensively.
He is like 5’9″?
He is taller than 5’9″, maybe 5’11” or 6’0″. Yesterday’s game he had 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 0 turnovers.
He had another game this weekend where he had 7 assists and just 1-2 turnovers. He made the easy play.
He fit right in. He is the piece we are missing with guard play.

Issac, from a scoring perspective didn’t score it as well as he did in Phoenix, but from every other aspect on the floor he was excellent. I thought he was the best passer on the team, in terms of making the right play. Degree of difficulty…some of the passes he made from outer third to outer third was impressive. His ability to pass the ball was good. It wasn’t his weekend to win.
NOTE: Per Coach Morrison, Ty Glasper Ty Glasper 6'1" | PG Gatlinburg-Pittman | 2025 State TN was out this weekend with an ankle injury. “He didn’t make the trip. He should be back soon.”
