They wrapped up their high school careers in February and March. Many were winning awards and playing on the big stage right to the end.
Out of respect for this great group, we’ll take one last pass at the 2023 rankings. For this last update, we put a lot of emphasis on playoff success and post-season awards.
Most notable on this list is the elevation of Blue Valley Northwest’s Grant Stubblefield Grant Stubblefield 6'2" | PG Blue Valley Northwest | 2023 State KS (pictured), the #2 player for about the past year, to #1. We’ll explain in a subsequent article the justification for moving Stubblefield ahead of Andover’s Eli Shetlar Eli Shetlar 6'4" | SG Andover | 2023 State KS .
There was a ton of movement in this final list. In all, 19 players were bumped by at least 10 spots. You’ll want to check out who all made moves. The biggest riser was a guard from Topeka you’ll want to check out.
In all, 14 new players were added to the list, with Shawnee Mission South guard Ben Webb Ben Webb 6'3" | CG Shawnee Mission South | 2023 State KS heading the list. We made sure to recognize a lot of small-school players who had special senior seasons.
This is the first update of the Kansas 2023 Player Rankings since January 17, 2022, and will be the final revision of this list.
