SubscribeThe school year is winding down and a few players are finally starting to commit and the beauty is that when a few players sign/commit more are to follow. Here are a few players still on the board and some that have recently come off.
Off the Board
One of the more solid combo guards that does a little bit of everything is off the board. Colby was a solid player at Davis where he was taught to play the right way, he moved the ball, made the extra pass and played solid defense. Not to mention he cleaned up the boards at times as well. Colby is a player that will play next season and he will get solid minutes, he will be able to play his game like most due when they play at SWAC but he is a good fit in this league and he will be able to use that High IQ and all-around playing skills as a CG.
Really good get for both parties here. Lyman is a player with skills and back to the basket game. He will be a force at the D2 level and if he commits to living in the weight room he could be special in Alaska. They get a kid that has a killer hook over both shoulders. He has impressive reach as he can keep that ball away from defenders on offensive moves. He is a solid 15 feet and in kid and will occasionally hurt you from beyond the arc on a pop or trail. His foot work and foot speed will continue to work as he adjust to the next level but he picked a great spot where he will play and earn his minutes. He could’ve easily landed at a D1 and possibly be buried in the rotation. Solid pick and solid find as Alaska has two 2023 prospects from Utah on the roster.
This was another great pick up for both sides. Isaac is a stretch 4 that can shoot and play in the perimeter. He is athletic and is great on rotations. In time he could turn into a player that you can run your offense through. He is tough and plays with a chip on his shoulders. He likes to attack the boards and often finishes above the rim. Snow will develop that shooting and activity these next two years and turn him into a sought out D1 prospect.
On the Board
Still one of the best PG’s out West still on the board. Might be a few suitors trying to get him soon. Quentin is an ALPHA PG that can come in and push anyone on the roster and earn minutes. Solid kid still on the board.
This kid is going to be a get because he is a freak athletically. His activity on the boards is elite and his motor will only get better in college. Would not be surprised if someone at the D1 level pulls the trigger on him. Stay tuned.
