Take a look at the best players D9-3A will run out in 2023-2024.
Greenbrier High School (Greenbrier, TN)
Macon Co. High School (Lafayette, TN)
Portland High School (Portland, TN)
Station Camp High School (Gallatin, TN)
White House High School (White House, TN)
averaged 8.3 per and 6.8 rebounds in his freshman season! Outstanding. The forward performed very well statistically against 3A teams.
averaged 10.4 ppg and 2.8 apg during his junior year. Worrell is a 5-foot-8 guard. He averaged a bit more his sophomore year when he took and made many more three-pointers.
Jojo Lyles (Portland)
Jojo Lyles (Portland) is set to spend his AAU summer with Tennessee Panthers 17u. Good rebounder from the guard position.
Volume scorer. Runyon won District MVP and District Tournament MVP in 2023. He might just be the District MVP of this new alignment too. Runyon can go. The senior-to-be is a flurry of activity end-to-end. Good, disruptive hands. Crafty scorer. Good speed with and without the basketball. A true finisher. Last year he was blessed with a solid point guard in outgoing senior Freddy Paxton Jr. Runyon will need teammates to improve to keep pace with his ability to score in bunches. Though he can create his own shot effectively, CR was best when Freddy carved up a defense and then found him for a jumper of layup at the tail end of the drive.
(Macon County) started as a sophomore, and even though he was not a big scorer, his impact was significant. The contributions looked subtle, but noteworthy. Flowers almost never turns the basketball over, an imperative for an effective point guard. Often the point guard would switch the point of attack before the defense could adjust. He fed players in their preferred spots on the floor, and on time. Flowers played with a nice blend of leadership and humility. The program will need him to score more in 2023-2024, surely, though he already makes teammates the best version of themselves.
(Macon County) consistently dashed to the lane, dismantling previously stout defenses. Driver’s first step quickness is his best physical tool. One way he can improve his potency is to finish with a floater or pull-up instead getting trapped under the basket. Multiple times in the game at Westmoreland, Driver surged to the low block and then found himself outsized and swarmed. Driver will probably be the leading scorer or the second-leading scorer in this upcoming senior season.
Cason Gregory (Macon County)
Owner of a soft baby hook and floater. Cason plays kind of like a guard, kind of like a wing. Shooting touch in the mid-range is his best skill.
The Bobcats of Greenbrier started five seniors last year, so no returnees will impress with their statistics going in. Still, Logan is a handful under the rim.
Lefty with height and skill to score from most points on the floor. Needs to add some good weight, though his foundation as a scorer is firm. Started as a sophomore and junior. Runs with Tennessee Panthers for AAU.
Braden Thornton (Portland)
Good size for the position. Scores efficiently.
