Woods Cross
Mason made easy work of any guards that did not spend any time in the weight room or that were undersized because he would take them down into the mid-post and bully them and turn and shoot or he would get to a comfortable spot and make some tough buckets before any help came. At the next level he is going to adjust but he was a big time hooper in high school that allowed his teammates, especially Jaxon Smith Jaxon Smith 6'1" | PG Woods Cross | 2023 State UT get open looks.
Jaxon made a living with quick buckets in transition an through the years he really developed a shooting that allowed him to be in attack mode at all times. Him and Mason really accounted for a lot of buckets and big time play that helped them really take this WX team to another level.
Timpview
Highlights
James had seen a lot of talent and other duo’s come through Timpview and he really showed why he is a tough player to guard as a bigger stronger guard with a big time motor. James fingured out that those rip and go straight line drives is all he needed to get that physical frame to the rim and finish through contact. James and Dean no pun intended were a great duo this past season.
The other side of the duo as in Dean was able to make some elite plays cutting to the rim and shooting the rock from deep. Dean made a big time splash and was among the best players in the state regardless of class.
Juan Diego Catholic
Highlights
Dorelle is a player that made his mark quickly at JDCHS. He has a smooth looking shot that we are seeing a lot more at the club level but he did work running the floor, blocking shots and pulling down lobs and finishing a lot of dunks. He was able to team up with Noah and really work that inside and outside game.
Highlights
Noah can really light it up and him being able to spread the floor really opens things up for a player like Dorelle. This is an exciting duo that will be back again next year.
Orem
Highlights
This is a duo that is going to be a main stay as both are freshman and have so much upside. Anthony is already turning heads with his elite ability and above the rim game. Anthony is no just an athlete that attacks the rim, that is just one part of his game. Anthony can hit that mid-range and the deep ball. He is going to be fun to watch for years to come.
Kai has grown a bit more and he is stronger. Kai is going to develop nicely with the young core at Orem but right now he makes for a solid complimentary piece as he has a high IQ getting in spots and just being in the right place at the right time.
