Riley Severy, 6’6 F – Spaulding High School
With an all-around skillset, this guy can occupy basically every spot on the floor. Offensively, he has strong post-game flush with an arsenal of moves, yet he’s also comfortable in the short corner, high post, or the wing, and he has the stroke and go-to moves to be effective everywhere. Moreover, he sees the floor well and can facilitate when called upon. And defensively, he guards multiple positions, inside or out, and has good senses off the ball, rotating keenly and consistently. And of course, he hits the boards at a high clip, plus, he has coast-to-coast ability. The list goes on… what can’t he do?
Logan Vaughan, 6’5 F – Champlain Valley Union High School
Logan is one of those guys who doesn’t wow with athleticism or highlight plays, but his impact on winning is top tier. Logan’s offensive repertoire harbors moves + counters anywhere within 15-feet of the rim. Furthermore, he has nice vision with the rock in his hands and he sees second defenders, cuts, and screens developing early, so he’s always ready to feed teammates. And defensively, Logan is rock solid. Vaughan handles post players with his sturdy frame and smart defense, plus he’s a quick helper on drivers and knows how to bother shots without taking himself out of position. Logan is a high-IQ, two-way gamer.
Mo Kanneh, 6’8 F – Rice Memorial High School
A defensive powerhouse, Mo knows how to keep the key locked down. Kanneh’s combination of size, strength, athleticism, and timing makes him an integral part of any defensive unit. His post defense is strong, upright and smart, often forcing opposing bigs off of their spot and out of their comfort zone. And if guards or wings decide to attack the cup, Mo is always ready to help and bother shots while at the same time his hand is in the passing lane to deflect little dump passes. Offensively, Kanneh is a strong pnr guy + dunker spot presence. His potential is sky high.
Paul McGillion, 6’9 F – Brattleboro Union High School
With Paul’s height and scoring touch, he’s a problem. Not only does McGillion have a solid frame and the clinical post moves within 5-10 feet to finish at the rim, but he also has turnaround jumpers ranging out to 15-feet which are near impossible to defend. Moreover, he’s not a black hole, and his over-the-top vision provides him the luxury to see the entire floor and pick defenses apart with sly passing. On the defensive end, Paul communicates well as he commands the paint. He’s a great rim protector and rebounder. McGillion makes it tough for opponents to find clean looks inside or salvage second chance buckets. Paul plays a winning brand of basketball each night.
Andrew Tringe, 6’7 F – Montpelier High School Class of 2023
All year, Tringe cemented himself as a force defensively. With his length and vertical challenging of shots, opponents struggled often to finish against him. Moreover, Andrew has nice instincts out of MHS’ 3-2 zone, where he at times had to slide out to the perimeter in a pinch, and that proved to be no issue with his mobility and smarts to rotate back into the interior. Then offensively, Tringe showed flashes of his post presence. He likes pnr scenarios and he flashes well into the paint off of drives, plus he’s a timely passer whenever guys relocate or cut. Plus, he runs the floor going both ways. Tringe is dependable and consistent.
