Continue ReadingThe class of 2025 is loaded, but Abittan is looking like a stockriser fighting for a top 5 spot. He shot the ball well, however it was his athleticism that caught my eye. Abittan has transformed his game into a player able to use his bounce to get his shot off over defenders. He improved his quickness and showed that he was able to get to his spot and hit pull up jumpers. His shooting combined with his overall R&J athleticism turned him into one of the more exciting players at the event.

Marcus is a unique unsigned senior. The hybrid forward has a good face up game complete with a crafty handle. He used several COD’s including behind the back, and crossover dribbles. to create for himself, showing good athletic and finishing ability. He played above the rim on several occasions capping off one of his crossovers with a thunderous dunk.
He’s got some serious bounce. Buchanan is one of the top high flyers in the state. He has explosive two foot bounce, but also floats a little, alloing him to take off from deep. He hammered home a few thunderous dunks in the game I saw.
Gayle is your prototypical, quick jumper. He has nice bunnies allowing him to get off the ground quickly with both his 1st and 2nd jump. He has a good frame, inside an explosive body, and he highlighted it with a few above the rim finishes in the game I saw.
Seen a lot of high school high flyers in my day, Richardson has a chance to be up there with some of the best. The first thing I look for is “different” bounce. Imagine sitting behind a wall, and only being able to see the top of a person’s head when they jump as high as they can. You can see the bottom of Richardson’s feet. He had a powerful dunk off a semi break that looked as if he was using a trampoline. On top of that he used his bounce to swat away several shots from interior players, showing the ability to use those hops for rim protection duties.
