Continue ReadingWilliams showed a ton of energy and effort on the weekend. He did a good job of making multiple effort plays on the defensive end, closing out to shooters as well as rotating in help side. He sprinted the wing well, but perhaps his best skill was his rebounding as his tenacious effort allowed him to grab both offensive and defensive boards for his team.
Second consecutive weekend I got to see Flowers and I liked him once again. He is a hybrid player that shifts from perimeter to interior duties especially on the defensive end. He played strong on ball defense and was a hard charging guard when attacking downhill.
Some may not recognize the value Brown brings, but his intangibles matter. He’s a competitive hard playing guard, that gets underneath opposing ballhandlers. He’s willing to fight for 50/50 balls no matter the size of the opponent, and like during his HS season he iss one of the best teammates on the court.
Finley is coming off a season where he helped Losee to a state title. He did a lot of the same things he does for the Lions for H2G this weekend. He was aggressive on the defensive backboards, providing much needed rebounding for his team, and he did a good job attacking the hoop both in transition and slashing in the half court.
Highlights
Really liked the motor Joshua played with this weekend. He’s a big body type, however he showed good foot speed sprinting the wings. He also wasn’t shy about throwing his body around in the paint to compete for rebounds. He was active around the rim, and was willing to battle offensive post players for postion.
Anthony Petrov
Anthony Petrov
Petrov took advantage of his opportunity to play as an unsigned senior. The brusing foward played with good activity throughout the weekend. His energy and aggressiveness, kept several offensive rebounds alive, allowing him to earn extra possesions for his team.
Jones played with a champions mentality this weekend. The tough guard, was scrappy on the defensive end, forcing turnovers. He aggressively attacked on the offenisve end as well, playing downhill and getting to the rim.
