We were in attendance for the event and below are some of the standouts from the “Best of the Best” game.
Jordan Houegban Jordan Houegban 6'1" | SG Brentwood | 2024 State CA-S , 2024, Brentwood
Houegban was one of the state’s top three-point shooters this season and he made sure to hammer that point home on Saturday. The 6-foot-2 junior is the definition of a knock-down guy when his feet are set behind the arc. Houegban had games of six and eight three-pointers during the camp games and knocked down a handful more in the top game.
Caleb Versher Caleb Versher 6'2" | CG St. Bernard | 2025 State #222 Nation CA-S , 2025, St. Bernard
Versher is one of the top sophomores in the state and his game normally speaks for itself, especially when he has the freedom to go deep into his offensive bag. The 6-foot-2 combo guard is an elite scorer both in half-court and transition offense because of his shooting ability and craftiness with the ball in his hands. Versher showed us some mid-post offensive game that we hadn’t seen from him yet.
Denis Woods Denis Woods 6'3" | PG Bishop Montgomery | 2025 State CA-S , 2025, Bishop Montgomery
Woods played a really nice and controlled brand of basketball and that, combined with his intriguing frame and point guard feel makes us think he’s an underrated prospect in the 2025 class. One thing we know about Woods is he’s capable of being coached hard and is being taught the right things by his high school coach. A lot of that showed up in the showcase as he looked to make drive and kick passes, extra passes and communicated well on the defensive end.
Tzahari Trevino Tzahari Trevino 6'4" | CG Valley Christian | 2024 State CA-N , 2026, Vallet Christian (San Jose)
Trevino is an intriguing freshman prospect because of how loaded he is with pure talent. The wiry 6-foot-4 shooting guard just has a knack for scoring and his shooting ability, to go along with his ball handling and feel, makes him a really tough guy to cover. Trevino flashed the ability to score in bunches and got hot in a hurry on multiple occasions.
Alexander Lloyd Alexander Lloyd 6'4" | SG Westminster | 2025 State #64 Nation FL , 2025, Westminster Academy (FL)
We mentioned Lloyd in one of our afternoon standouts pieces from Saturday’s action and his impressive performance in the Best of the Best game earned him another paragraph worth of evaluation. The 6-foot-4 sophomore is an effortless athlete with a smooth, balanced pull-up jumper. While Lloyd is a scoring machine he also made a handful of plays that showed us that he’s much more than just a scorer.
