SubscribeNorth Border had a very successful season, even though they did not end up meeting their end goal of a State Tournament berth. The Eagles were the top-scoring team in Class B basketball at over 74 points per game while holding teams to 50 points per game. They had a loss to the Region 2 State Representative, Thompson in their 2nd game of the year and ran into an incredibly hot shooting Grafton team midseason. North Border drew a tough matchup in Regionals with MPCG where their season ended. The Eagles finished the year with an impressive 19-3 record. North Border played a fun, up-tempo style of game that led to a lot of dunks and transition threes. When in their half-court offense, North Border had great ball movement to find the open guy and they made teams pay for trapping or doubling guys.
The Eagles had two players selected for the All-State team. That is rare and just proves how talented North Border was with their two Rockstar seniors.

Team Comments from coach Dan Moore
“We had some very quality wins over North Prairie, Warwick, Kindred, HCV, and MPB. 2 of those were State Qualifiers and 2 of them were in Region Championships. We shot very well in those games, which is what we have failed to do the past 3 years in the Betty. Even though there wasn’t a lot of returning varsity experience, they managed to jell as the season went along and got more and more comfortable with each other and knowing where to find them in space.

were one of the top duos in all of class B. TJ slashed to the rim and really developed a strong outside game as well this season to go along with his strong perimeter defense.

took his all-around game to another level this year as he was a deadly outside shooter to go along with his attacking the rim and dunking on kids on a nightly basis. He became a great help-side defender and averaged over 2 blocks a game.

and Cody Eisenbeis were the other two seniors who came off the bench and provided valuable minutes and leadership along with TJ, Ayden, and Kyle. All five seniors had a role and filled them well and will be missed immensely. TJ and Ayden will leave the program as the All-Time Leading Scorer and the Third-Leading Scorer in program history. Those are guys that will always be remembered and leave a lasting legacy. They were crucial in the direction our basketball program has headed and helped lay the groundwork for the future. This was my 9th year as Head Coach, and TJ has been a part of right around 75-80% of my career wins. Ayden put together 3 seasons here that will be talked about and remembered forever. Those are not guys we will replace. We will never have another TJ or Ayden, and that’s ok. We have some freshmen who got their feet wet this season on the varsity in

that will be expected to take a leap for next year, as well as many of our other freshmen. Our 8th graders had a very good year and they will be forced into action a bit also next season as Grayson is our only returning senior and Grant is our only returning junior next year, so our sophomores and freshmen will be thrown into the fire a bit!! We will be young, but the goals and expectations to compete on a nightly basis won’t be changing. Two All-State caliber players in a small town aren’t easily replaced, but we hope that the young guys feel they can forge their own path forward and not try to be Ayden and TJ, but be themselves. We will be attending team camps and summer leagues once again this upcoming offseason and some of our players will be playing AAU again as well. TJ and Ayden were both All-Region selections and Ayden was Region 2 Senior Athlete as well as the ND State Class B Senior Athlete of the Year. They were both All-State as well.“
Good Luck with the offseason, PHD is looking forward to watching the Eagles next year!
