Jackson Schauer Jackson Schauer 6'1" | CG Faith | 2024 State SD |6’1 G| Faith
23-3 record. Class B State Qualifier. Second Team All-State. Scored 15, 22, and 36 points in the State Tournament. For the season, Schauer averaged 20.8 ppg, 5 rpg, 4.2 apg, 3 rpg, shot 44 3FG%, 84 FT%. This lefty is a SNIPER! Schauer is a high-percentage shooter and he is efficient with the ball. He does not waste his dribbles. Jackson handles it well and he creates for others. He has a good feel for the game and is a sharp passer. Jackson is a sneaky and clever defender. He is also an underrated athlete.
Cody Slykhuis Cody Slykhuis 6'7" | SF Sanborn Central-Woonsocket | 2024 State SD |6’6 SF| Sanborn Central-Woonsocket
6-15 record. Lost Regional first-round game. You will be impressed with this long athlete, Cody is no stranger to dunking on people! Slykhuis is a superior athlete that is sure to turn your head. Cody is a capable shooter from the perimeter and a hard-working defender. This athletic wing is deadly going downhill and will really make plays when attacking close-outs.
Layne Cotton Layne Cotton 6'3" | SF Faulkton Area | 2024 State SD |6’3 SF| Faulkton Area
9-12 record. Lost in Regional Quarterfinals. 3rd Team All-State. 23.1 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 2.5 apg, 2.7 spg, 113 FTM. Cotton is a double-double machine! On offense, he can hit the 3-ball off the dribble or catch. Layne has extended range with a soft & easy release. He also has a nice pull-up game that goes along with a sweet mini-stepback J. Cotton has a creative finishing package, scores with both hands at the rim, and he can produce off 1 or 2 feet. Layne is also an aggressive downhill slasher that has no trouble splitting a double team. His hesitation move is dirty. Cotton has great eyes as a passer, I love how he manipulates and fools the defense with pass fakes. This kid is seriously talented.
Caden Selby Caden Selby 6'7" | SF Faith | 2024 State SD |6’7 SG| Faith
23-3 record. Class B State Qualifier. Scored 15, 11, and 26 points at the State Tournament. Selby averaged double-digit points and shot close to 40% from beyond the arc. He is obviously a winner, the Longhorns collected 23 W’s and went to State. With Caden’s length, he should be drawing attention from college coaches. Selby spaces the floor well and he shoots the ball with a high release. A 6’7″ wing that can shoot it, what college coach would not be interested?
Richard Pumpkin Seed Richard Pumpkin Seed 5'9" | CG Crazy Horse | 2024 State SD |5’9 G| Crazy Horse
17-5 record. Lost in SoDak 16. Richard averaged 16.5 ppg, 5 rpg, 6 apg, 2.5 spg. Big production from this junior guard and they had a ton of success. Richard is a stat-stuffer and will likely be one of the top guards in Class B next season. He knows how to score the rock and he will create for others. Richard is a major producer and a playmaker. He is a hard-nosed floor general that controls the pace. Richard makes plays going downhill and he shot it hot down the stretch of the season.
Shun-Zi White Woman Shun-Zi White Woman 6'5" | PF Rapid City Stevens | 2024 State SD |6’5 PF| Rapid City Central
6-14 record. Lost in AA SoDak 16. Everyone I talked to said he is a legit post player. Shun-Zi averaged 10.8 ppg, 501 rpg, 1.3 apg, shot 48 FG%. and hit 80 FT’s this season. He is a BIG wide post. Shun-Zi is always fighting and battling for position in the paint. On D, he is a paint protector. Shun-Zi scores with a soft touch and he can put up points all the way out to the 3-point arc. This BIG is a legit player!
Kanye Hollow Horn Kanye Hollow Horn 6'7" | PF Pine Ridge | 2024 State SD |6’7 F| Pine Ridge
18-4 record. Lost in SoDak 16. He had a super nice season for the Thorpes and averaged 9 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.5 apg, 2 bpg, and shot a blistering 65 FG%. Kanye is an outstanding rim protector and shot blocker. Hollow Horn has intriguing length and he is a highly efficient scorer. He proved to be a great shot blocker and a difference maker. Kanye can also space the floor and hit the 3-ball with a high release. The Thorpes have a good thing going and Kanye will be a BIG factor next season for Pine Ridge.
Jaylin Rouillard Jaylin Rouillard 6'2" | SG Pine Ridge | 2024 State SD |6’2 G| Pine Ridge
18-4 record. Lost in SoDak 16. He was the leading scorer for the Thorpes and will be a scary scoring option next season. Jaylin averaged 14.5 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2 apg 1.4 spg, a red hot 44 3FG%! Easily a top shooter from deep. Jaylin sets his feet quickly but he does not hurry. However, he does have a quick trigger and I love his follow-through. Jaylin moves with natural basketball instincts and he makes the game look easy. Rouillard and the Thorpes should be Top-10 team next season.
Turner Thompson Turner Thompson 6'5" | SF St. Thomas More | 2024 State SD |6’6 PF| St. Thomas More
21-4 record. Class A State Qualifier. His stats will not jump off the screen but that is because of the system he plays in. Thompson plays for a disciplined team and they are stout on the defensive end. Turner is very long and he is an eye-opening athlete. He gets up and down the court in a hurry and will “wow” you with his mobility. Thompson is a lefty that can put up points. I expect him to have an expanded offensive role next season.
Kobee Sherman Kobee Sherman 6'3" | SF Viborg-Hurley | 2024 SD |6’3 SF| Viborg Hurley
21-5 record. Class B State Qualifier. He is no stranger to success, the Cougars had a great season. Kobee averaged 10.2 ppg, 3.7 rpg, 2 apg, and shot 41 FG%. He is also a serious threat from beyond the arc. Sherman hit 47 triples at a crazy 40%! No wonder the Cougars won so many games. Kobee lets it fly with an effortless stroke and his feet get set quickly. I really like his awareness and how he catches ready to fire. The Cougars have some big time talent coming back next year and you should expect Sherman to be a scary shooting threat!
