Here were the freshman standouts/Part-1:
Bear Fisher Bear Fisher 6'5" | PF Queen Creek | 2026 State AZ Snowflake (Firestorm 15)
A fluid four-man runs the floor, rebounds and blocks shots. He can shoot it from mid-range and shows some quickness for position. He was a pleasant surprise from up North. He kept the game as close as he could with his all-around play. He was recently moved up to the top team.
Matt Delgado Matt Delgado 6'5" | SG Boulder Creek | 2026 State AZ Boulder Creek (AZ Select 15 UAA)
A long wing forward is athletic and can shoot. He has a polished mid-range jumper and can also step out and hit the three off the catch. He rips thru quickly and will use either hand to finish. He springs up quickly to score and will score on put backs or throw it down on the break.
Alonzo Middleton Alonzo Middleton 5'10" | PG Phhoenix Prep | 2026 State AZ Phhoenix Prep (AZ Select 15 UAA)
My first view of him and he shined. He has good skill, a high IQ and comes with real range well past the three point line. He can throw up the court passes and drive and kick it to a shooter or find a cutter.
Jeehzus Pagan Jeehzus Pagan 6'0" | PG Boulder Creek | 2026 State AZ Boulder Creek (AZ Select 15 UAA)
A defensive minded point guard moves the ball quickly. He has a quick first step to get to the rim and finish. He is tough downhill and seems to touch the paint at will. He is a true ball hawk making it hard to dribble past him. Don’t be surprised if he is the teams first guard off the bench and take over for Rowan next year.
Mick Riordan Mick Riordan 6'1" | SG Boulder Creek | 2027 AZ Boulder Creek (AZ Select 15 UAA)
A sniper is a smart passer and he is sneaky athletic to blow past his defender. He also has the floater game, the catch three and will get into the paint when they get too close to him. His shooting sets up the rest of his game and he looks quicker and his game IQ is always on point. He may be a rare freshman to play a role on varsity.
Brayden Newton Brayden Newton 5'11" | CG Boulder Creek | 2026 State AZ Boulder Creek (AZ Select 15 UAA)
A combo guard is athletic in traffic. He is very fast on the break and runs the floor well. He can find open teammates on the break and outrace opponents to the rim. He is very good in transition as he makes decisions quickly. He is another underclassmen who will get varsity minutes.
Cisco Llamas Cisco Llamas 5'7" | PG Sahuaro | 2026 State AZ Sahuaro (Tucson Unity 16) (Pictured)
You can see why he is highly thought of in Tucson despite his size. His speed, skill and feel pop off the page. He scored an impressive 37 points including 8 3’s. He is as quick as anyone in the class. The ball is on a string for him. He will blow past his defender and then throw a rope to a teammate. He also can shoot it. He can pull-up from mid-range plus let it fly from deep with range. Once he does burst past his defender, he can score on layups with either hand.
Jayden Hughes Jayden Hughes 6'5" | CG Brophy Prep | 2026 State AZ Brophy Prep (UH Elite 15)
A long combo guard has good speed on the break. He can hit the catch three and is a long athlete. He has a good motor to get on the glass and will score on put backs. He handles some of the lead guard role and is a good passer. He has grown an inch or so since I saw him in the season.
Prince Cash Prince Cash 6'5" | SF Carl Hayden | 2026 State AZ Carl Hayden (Firestorm 15)
A long wing is a good athlete. He covers ground quickly on defense and will defend multiple positions. He can shoot the three or from mid-range. He already started at the end of the year on a good varsity team and he has some size in his family for possible future growth.
