Lonestar State Showdown: Amarillo Nets Go 4-0!
In this article:
At the 16 and Under level of play at the Lonestar State Showdown one team went undefeated and that was the Amarillo Nets. Not only did the Nets go 4-0, they won every game by double digits!
The Net victories at 16u included a 15 point win over Tarrant Elite, a 10 point win over Nike Pro Skills San Antonio, a 17 point win over C&S Hoopsters, and a 15 point victory over DC Kings Denton. Overall a very impressive weekend winning an impressive pool that also included the LA Broncos and OWE Under Armour squad.
Six-foot-7 power forward Dawson Heider Dawson Heider 6'8" | C Randall | 2025 TX out of Randall High School in Amarillo was the stable force around the basket that gave his team a consistent advantage. He had a 20 plus point game and was the consistent point producer other teams could not consistently deal with. My favorite part of watching Dawson play was how much ground he covers defensively behind the play to get to a play.
Also from Randall High School is starting point guard Jaxon Toniolli Jaxon Toniolli 6'0" | PG Randall | 2025 TX . Jaxon teamed with Heider to help their team win 30 games this past winter and now they are winning games on the Prep Hoops Circuit in similar ways. Toniolli was consistently putting everyone in position to play comfortably and his mid-range jumper was on all weekend long.
Six-foot-3 2026 Tayren Combs is playing up and is one of the more active players that was in the event last weekend. Combs is a good rebounder and post player that made his presence known on just about every possession in some way. A two sport standout prospect that is not only agile but also disruptive and active.
Jonathan Henderson Jr. Jonathan Henderson Jr. 6'0" | PG Amarillo | 2025 TX of Amarillo High is a speedy, speedy guard who was a constant scrapper on defense at 5-foot-9. In the last game Henderson hit five of eight three point attempts for a 20 point game. Between his shot and his ball pressure defense, through him in the three and D category!
Taysen Combs is a lot like his brother in terms of activity and this 2025 was a disruptive force especially with Tayren. Combs bounced back from a rough first game to have many people talking about his two way play!
