I watched a lot of 15 and 16U with some 17U games as well. This was one of the biggest events AZ has had in a while with 400+ teams from the Southwest.
Here are some of the Top Soph/Frosh Forwards that I didn’t previously mention
Kareem Alkhalifa Kareem Alkhalifa 6'4" | SF Pinnacle | 2026 State AZ Pinnacle (Peak Basketball 16-17) (Pictured)
A versatile point forward type plays and defends multiple positions. He played up in 16 and 17U and he more than held his own. He can pull-up for mid-range off the dribble and uses his length to play the passing lanes on defense.
David Mans David Mans 6'5" | PF Pinnacle | 2026 State AZ Pinnacle (Peak Basketball 15)
A sturdy post player who is a strong two-handed rebounder. He has a good second jump up and boxes out like you should. He has bigger feet and big hands for possible growth and will score it around the basket with a nice touch and footwork.
Avery Osyczka Avery Osyczka 6'6" | PF Phhoenix Prep | 2025 State AZ Phhoenix Prep (AZ Select Craig)
A live bodied power forward gets off the floor in the blink of an eye. He has nice footwork and will seal and go to work. He boxes out really well and powers up in traffic. He lives on the glass with offensive rebound put backs and dunks it effortlessly.
Gabriel Emerson Gabriel Emerson 6'6" | PF McClintock | 2024 State AZ Phhoenix Prep (AZ Select Craig)
A strong post player who scores it well thru contact. He uses his length, size and girth to corral rebounds and will score on put backs. He can face-up out to the three point line and is a consistent performer.
Deshaun Johnson Deshaun Johnson 6'3" | SF Corona del Sol | 2025 State AZ Corona del Sol (UH Elite)
A long wing can drive the lane and make reverse layups in traffic after he gives a hard ball fake. He will go up to score in the paint and after he rebounds the ball he can push the rock. He defends multiple positions for UH and brings his athleticism and length to block shots.
Jeremiah Jones Jeremiah Jones 6'10" | C Perry | 2025 State AZ AZ College Prep (UH Elite)
The big guy moves well and will rebound or block shots in his area. He can run the floor and he is developing a jump hook shot. His best skill currently is walling up in the post and making it difficult to score on him and will rebound at a high clip.
Lamar Anderson Lamar Anderson 6'3" | SF Dysart | 2025 State AZ Dyasrt
A long athletic wing is trying to put it together. He can fall away on his defender to score and grabs out of area rebounds. He will score on put backs and he can run the floor for transition buckets.
