Prep Hoops Missouri takes a look at some of the top point guards in the 17U division at last weekend's Kansas City Classic at the HyVee Arena.

[player_tooltip player_id='1263625' first='Josiah' last='Kirkwood'] (Marcus Denmon Elite): A 5'10" 2024 point guard who earned a spot on the All-Tournament team with his stellar play during the tournament. His speed and quickness was a definite asset at both ends of the court. He is a tough cover with his ability to blow by defenders with his speed and dribble penetration while he can also pull up and hit the 3-pointer off the dribble.

[player_tooltip player_id='1315454' first='Isaiah' last='Bonaparte'] (Columbia Supreme): The 6'0" 2024 point guard from Hickman led the Supreme to an undefeated weekend at the event. He is an excellent floor leader and playmaker who can set the table for his teammates, yet can go and get buckets when his team needs it. His quickness and ball handling ability make him very difficult to keep out of the lane as he can score on runners, floaters and mid-range jumpers. He was one of the best at breaking down defenders off the dribble.

David Cobin (KC Spurs -Weston): A 5'10" 2024 point guard from the Wichita area who has a good motor and a nice feel for the game. He was aggressive when attacking the basket and he can also hit catch and shoot 3-pointers. He will also pull up to hit the mid-range jumper. He is also a very active defender who will pick up ball handlers in the backcourt and apply good pressure.

Carter Carbonelli (IAM3 Basketball): A 6'0" point guard from Norman (OK) who was an excellent playmaker in addition to being one of the most impressive perimeter shooters that I watched during the weekend. He can handle full court pressure well and he does a good job of creating space for himself to free himself up to try to score or get his team into some offense. He could create offense off the dribble as he hit a number of step back jumpers.

Daillon McCallister (Dallas Showtyme): A 5'11" 2024 point guard who has a stout frame and he uses it to play a physical game on the perimeter. He can get downhill on the drive where he was good at drawing fouls. He could also hit the pull up jumper from about 12 feet. He was also good on the defensive end as he could sit down and keep opposing ball handlers in front of him.

Setiki Yilla (Taylor Made): A 6'0" 2025 point guard who has good quickness and was operating as a one-man press break at times as he weaved in and out of traffic in the open court. He was very good with his dribble penetration and dropping off the dime to an open teammate. He used his quickness and length to excel on the defensive end.
