We had some very impressive defensive players on hand at last weekend's Prep Hoops Kansas City Clash. With that in mind, we've put together an All-Defensive Team from the event. These young men put in the work at the defensive end.

Hanif Muhammad (Real Phenom- Nick): The 6'0" 2024 point guard was the most impressive on-ball defender that I watched during the weekend. He was intimidating on defense with his quickness and ball hawking tenacity. He also played very good position defense off the ball as he kept himself in the right spots to give help and dart into the passing lanes for steals.

******

Gideon Cooper (Minnesota Falcons): A 6'8" forward who was the most impressive rim protector that I watched during the weekend. He used his length and excellent timing to block shots inside without fouling. He also used his athleticism and agility to challenge shots on the perimeter. He also controlled the defensive boards in the game that I watched.

******

James Allen (LTD Select): A 6'4" 2024 wing who was the most impressive team defender that I watched during the weekend. He had the size and length to guard multiple positions on the floor. What was best about him was how he was constantly talking and directing traffic whenever he was on the floor. He played defense like a middle linebacker on the football field. He was an excellent communicator and organizer on the court.

******

KV Stone (Marcus Denmon Elite): The 6'1" 2024 wing is a versatile defender who could guard multiple spots with his physical strength and good instincts. He used his powerful body to guard in the post against players who were much taller and he had the footwork and positioning to guard very effectively on the perimeter against fellow guards.

******

Isiah Ayala (Real Phenom - Irvin): A 6'6" combo forward who had the length and athleticism to impact the game defensively from several spots on the floor. He also played with a high motor, which made him even more effective. He could be disruptive on the full court press as he could move around to get deflections and steals. He could guard the low post with his height and he had a couple of excellent chase-down blocks after running the court.

*****

Nehemiah Hamilton (Columbia Supreme): A 6'0" 2024 point guard who was a very stout defender on the perimeter. When he sat down, he dug in and was able to keep opposing ball handlers out of the lane. His has a powerful body and he used chest to stall a a ball handler in his tracks.
