Biruk Dietz
Biruk Dietz
Dietz was a significant contributor to the excellent Heritage season that fell just short of the state tournament. He will step into a much bigger role, particularly with the graduation of all-state point guard Owen Evans Owen Evans 6’1″ | PG Olathe Heritage Christian | 2023 State KS . Dietz will likely take over the point guard role next year. He’s a penetrator who can get where he wants and has an eye for finding shooters. Dietz is doing a good job running the LTD offense this spring.
Hofer got great experience as a bench player for the state-bound Bobcats during the high school season. Now he’s developing his skills against players his own age with the KC Spurs. He’s got skills and a developing body. He is a dangerous shooter who knows how to find openings to let it loose. He is also smart, tough and physical.
Highlights
Dierks Kegler
Dierks Kegler
A tough guard who doesn’t have to have the ball in his hands to make a difference, Kegler already has varsity experience. He is showing with the Spurs that he is an under-control ball handler and makes smart plays with the ball. He’s quick and strong and a handsy defender. He anticipates and picks off passes that hang in the air.
Blayne Marshall
Blayne Marshall
Marshall played a little as a Stag reserve as a freshman, so he was part of a lot of wins. He surely learned quite a bit subbing for stud seniors Mac Armstrong, Jason Rodriguez Jason Rodriguez 5’10” | PG Bishop Miege | 2023 State KS and company. Miege graduates a ton of seniors, and Marshall is setting himself up for lots of playing time by running the talented Marcus Denmon 2026 group. He’s an impressive athlete with a ton of explosiveness and quickness.
AJ Moland
AJ Moland
Getting playing time as always challenging at Miege, but like Marshall, Moland got a little bit of action backing up the senior guards. Moland is a solid ballhandler who makes distribution his primary job. He’s a quick and active defender too. Moland is gaining experience as the primary point man for the Kings this spring.
