In this article:
April ended with an update to the Class of 2025 rankings. Below you can see and read about one-third of the added players. Enter les Debutantes!
Nate Thompson Nate Thompson 6'3" | SG South-Doyle | 2025 State TN (South Doyle) – Bulky combo guard. Not very good defending laterally and that will inhibit his ultimate college potential. Definitely a team-first guy with a broad set of skills. Rebounds well for his position. Can handle better than expected considering his muscular frame. Kind of plays like a Talon Horton-Tucker (NBA).
Chandler Gamble Chandler Gamble 6'6" | PF South Greene | 2025 State TN (Clinton) Recorded a 17-point, 17-rebound game in the playoffs. Gamble is an enticing prospect because of the multiple ways he impacts the game.
Ben Brophy Ben Brophy 6'3" | PG Hardin Valley | 2025 State TN (Hardin Valley Academy)
Brian Ailey Jr Brian Ailey Jr 6'3" | SG Knoxville Christian | 2025 State TN (Knoxville Christian)
Takhyian Whitset Takhyian Whitset 6'5" | PF Antioch (football) | 2025 State TN (Antioch) – Wonderful rebounder. Ultimately, Whitset will be a college football player. He makes his high school team very dominant within 10′. Actually, Whitset’s coach earned District Coach of the Year, thanks in part to Whitset’s season.
Nathan Russell Nathan Russell 6'4" | SG Powell | 2025 State TN (Powell)
Jeremiah Lee Jeremiah Lee 5'9" | PG Clinton | 2025 State TN (Clinton)
Kendrick Taylor Kendrick Taylor 6'3" | PG Humboldt | 2025 State TN (Humboldt) – Dynamic guard. Great speed with the basketball. Impact player. Needs shooting range added.
Ty Gibbs Ty Gibbs 5'10" | SG Grace Christian-Franklin | 2025 State TN (Grace Christian) – Elite shooter. Ty is quite skilled. An average athlete at the high school level. During the PrepHoopsTN Jv Camp he saw the floor quite well. Very good offensive awareness.
Barron Scheetz Barron Scheetz 6'4" | PF Hardin Valley Academy | 2025 State TN (Hardin Valley Academy) – Barron was an All-Star at the fall PrepHoopsTN Combine, and was added following his detailed camp evaluation. Scheetz is a taller wing with soft touch. He needs to get more aggressive. More gritty. The skill is nice, suggestive of a potential small college opportunity. He needs to keep working though.
Daylen Spradling Daylen Spradling 6'2" | SG McMinn Central | 2025 State TN – Daylen had a strong AAU April, constantly scoring in double figures for Fastbreak 16u. Spradling typically finished in the Top 3 scorers for the team. The squad spent much of their April in the Atlanta-area. The 6-foot-2 height helps.
