Bringing the Pressure:
The Carolina Pressure 2024 squad had a strong showing this past weekend in rock hill. Jayden Pretty Jayden Pretty 6'6" | PF Ridge View | 2024 State SC was working around the paint and delivering buckets and claiming rebounds left and right. Pretty has a nice stroke from the elbow in on the floor. He’s extremely efficient using his body and carving out space at times. Jayden understands on how to work from block to block and use angles to score at the bucket.
Caleb Jenkins Caleb Jenkins 5'5" | PG Sumter | 2024 State SC is a water bug point guard who really makes the engine go for the Carolina Pressure program. He keeps the ball low to the ground and really shows to have a quick set of hands on the defensive end. Jenkins is constantly scrapping for everything he does on the floor. Caleb plays the game with ice in his veins and usually rises calls for the ball late in the game.
Joshua Smith Joshua Smith 6'2" | CG Ridge View | 2024 State SC is a bucket getter at times while on the floor. Smith can create his own shot and seems to really shoot the ball off the bounce well. He has no problems playing defense and sacrificing on the defense end of the floor when it comes to taking a charge.
Dixon Makes Good Impression:
Curtrell Dixon Curtrell Dixon 6'3" | SG Cane Bay | 2024 State SC is a bit of a late bloomer on the floor. Dixon a shooting guard came alive this weekend up here in Rock Hill for Team Ford Prime. He hit several pull up jumpers off the bounce while showing some good explosion to the basket at times. Dixon dropped the 3-ball at times when he wasn’t looking to slash to the rack. Dixon attends Cane Bay HS down in Summerville.
New Name – New Look:
Over the years Devin Grainger Devin Grainger 6'1" | PG Conway | 2024 State SC has ran with a local outfit of Conway name Ascend Ballers. This weekend several players with Conway HS ties were running with the The Private Snipaz. Grainger a left-handed guard really likes to get the ball downhill to the bucket. Devin will drop some floaters in a defender’s face when he’s not looking to score in the ball in transition. Grainger a quarterback on the gridiron in the fall or hoops in the winter will be a decision to make in the very near future.
Team 803 – Has Some Pieces
Team 803 showed some good glimpses this past weekend. Justin Skelton Justin Skelton 6'2" | SG Spring Valley | 2024 State SC , Darius Elkins Darius Elkins 5'9" | PG Newberry | 2024 State SC and Braylon Barfield Braylon Barfield 6'7" | PF Richmond County | 2024 State NC were just a few of the names to watch here.
Skelton really looks to score the ball and surely has the freedom to do that on this Team 803. Justin was able to connect on some jumpers from the perimeters while also taking some tough shots in return. Skelton feels most comfortable at times behind the three-point line. Justin attends Spring Valley HS.
Elkins a left-handed point guard really likes to play the game at 94 feet. He does a nice job of setting up his teammates with some crisp passes for quality looks in return. Darius plays the game very well on the ball as a defender and really looks to bring some chaos in return. Elkins attends Newberry HS.
Barfield is an interesting forward who at times really shows some flashes to breakout and take over the game. Braylon still must get stronger and tougher down the road for the college game. He’s a very deceptive athlete who really looks to go to work at times down around the paint. Barfield can face-up and step-out on the perimeter. He could be a tough matchup at times with his ability to play-inside on the floor. Barfield attends Marlboro County HS in Bennettsville.
Team 803 is a team that can surprise anyone on a given night on the Grassroots Circuit.

Big Shots SC Premier lost a tough opening round game to Twin Hoops Elite based out of Roanoke, VA in the opener. Qayden Turner Qayden Turner 6'6" | SF Hilton Head Christian | 2024 State SC came out on top with 14 points and missed a shot at the buzzer in overtime. Darius Carr Darius Carr 6'7" | PF Gray Collegiate | 2024 State SC a post player showed some flashes today down in the paint. Carr does a great job of showing good timing when it comes to blocking shots especially with his left-hand. Darius will manufacture points on put-backs off the glass. He does his best work close to the cup and playing active at all times.
Some Other Notables Here Today:
Antoine Bracey Antoine Bracey 6'2" | SF Sumter | 2024 SC really doesn’t have a true position on the floor you just make sure he’s playing somewhere. Bracey a football has a nice set of shoulders and a good skill set. Antoine will try to overpower defenders to the rack. He can post up small defenders on the block or step-out for a short jumper. Bracey attends Sumter HS.
Ziayre Williams Ziayre Williams 6'6" | PF Cane Bay | 2024 State SC and Lonnie Harrison Lonnie Harrison 5'10" | PG Berkeley | 2024 State SC both suited up for Team Ford Prime this past weekend. Williams a post player is still a RAW talent. Ziayre certainly looks the part down in the paint. He does a nice job of being a mover-screener on the floor along with showing some good footwork. Williams attends Cane Bay HS.
Harrison really keeps the ball on a string at times and his team into the offense from out top. Lonnie pulled off a few floaters and some pull-up jumpers here today for Team Ford Prime. Harrison at times almost plays the game a bit too unselfish. He made good reads all weekend long with his passing skills. Lonnie attends Berkeley HS in Moncks Corner.
