Alec Elkins Alec Elkins 5'9" | SG Lucy Beckham | 2024 #46 Nation SC is the #1-ranked player in the 2024 class, and he had an amazing year resulting in the Mr. Basketball award for the state of Alabama. He committed to the University of Auburn but recently announced that he was reopening his recruitment. He is one of the most potent and prolific scorers that the state saw this year. He packed gyms with basketball fans and non-basketball fans just wanting to get a glimpse to see if the hype was real, and many it did not take long, often the first quarter, for everyone in the gym, to admit that LeBaron was worth the admission. It is hard to argue why LaBaron would not be on this list because the hardware says it all.
Caleb Holt (6’5/SG/’26/Buckhorn HS)

We have not dropped our 2026 rankings yet, but let me go ahead and let you in on a little secret that really is not a secret and that is when the rankings do drop, Caleb will be sitting in the #1 spot. He was sensational in the final four, and you can read our coverage of the final four for more information. He is already turning heads with his play with Game Elite as well as during the Team USA camp. He is an explosive athletic scorer who can get it done at all levels. After his performance at the final four, many were yelling his praise as a rightful consideration for Mr. Basketball.
Chase McCarty Chase McCarty 6'5" | SG IMG Academy | 2024 State #71 Nation FL (6’6/SG/’24/Westminster Christian Academy)

Chase is the #2-ranked player in the 2024 class, and he led his team to the final four. If you look at his Instagram account, it looks as though he is receiving an offer just about every day. Schools across the country are hoping to land the talented and versatile big bodyguard. He recently debuted in the ESPN Top100 as the #98-ranked player in the country. Make no mistake about it, Chase is a man on a mission as his team fell short in the final four but look for his senior campaign to be one with nothing but the state championship as the ultimate goal. He proved with a dynamic junior season that he is one of the top five players in the state regardless of class.
John Broom John Broom 6'5" | SG Jacksonville | 2023 State AL (6’5/Forward/’23/Jacksonville HS)

John finished his high school career as the #2-ranked player in the 2023 class. He finishes as a back-to-back state champion, and during his senior campaign, he did with many in the state saying they couldn’t as Cade Phillips Cade Phillips 6'8" | PF Jacksonville | 2023 AL left for Link Academy. John proved to be well able to take the reigns and lead his squad to the championship. He was a two-way player that impacted and led his team on both ends of the floor, showing what senior leadership looks like on and off the floor.
DeWayne Brown, II DeWayne Brown, II 6'9" | C Hoover | 2025 State #106 Nation AL (6’9/C/’25/Hoover HS)

DeWayne has emerged as one of, if not the best, post player in the state regardless of class. He s currently ranked as the #2 player in the 2025 class. Many may question this selection, but looking at the body of work that DeWayne put together this year, it is hard to say that he doesn’t deserve the recognition. He was perhaps one of the most dominant players in the state that no team had an answer for, as he was just too big and physical for most. Many could argue this selection, as I have mentioned, but go back and check the numbers, watch the film, and re-live the dominance.
