Below is review of eight players who posted standout performances in Tuesday night’s post season contests.
Kyle Berndt – 6’6” / Senior / CB East / Total Skills / Wing: This long and wiry prospect can knock home jumpers from anywhere in the gym. Plus, his height and quick trigger allow him to shoot over double teams. Last night Berndt poured in 7 threes (21 points overall) during CB East’s District 1-6A win over Garnet Valley.
Niymire Brown Niymire Brown 6'4" | SF Upper Darby | 2023 State PA – 6’4″/ Senior / Upper Darby / One Opportunity / Small Forward: Brown is a multi-skilled big who provides UD’s perimeter-oriented attack with an inside presence. He does this damage via dribble drives from the free throw line, on the offensive glass and in pick-n-rolls. Tuesday night this physical athlete scored 20 points in UD’s win over North Penn in District 1-6A playback action.
Sam Brown Sam Brown 6'3" | CG Lower Merion | 2023 State PA – 6’3″ / Senior / Lower Merion / Team Final EYBL / Combo Guard: It is no secret that Brown (Penn commit) is a lefty with an automatic 3-point shot. Yet again last night an opponent (Plymouth Whitemarsh) allowed him to pop 4 triples on his way to 25 points. Unfortunately, outstanding Brown’s efforts were not enough as LM lost their District 1-6A semifinal game. In LM’s three District 1-6A contests Brown averaged 30 points and 4 made threes per night.
EJ Campbell EJ Campbell 6'0" | CG Spring Ford | 2024 State PA – 6’1” / Junior / Spring Ford / K-Low Elite / Combo Guard: Campbell is a versatile guard who burst onto the recruiting scene in the last three months. Although he can play as a distributing lead guard, Tuesday evening Campbell was in scoring mode. He got buckets off the bounce and in transition. He also drained 3 triples on his way to 27 points. Campbell’s outstanding performance helped SF punch their ticket to the District 1-6A championship game.
Alex Cercado Alex Cercado CG Bethlehem Catholic | 2023 State PA – 5’11” / Senior / Bethlehem Catholic / Team Final Red / Point Guard: Cercado (18 ppg.) is a recent Alvernia University commit (D3 in PA) with elusive handles that get him to the cup. Additionally, he possesses a feathery jumper. Yesterday in the District 11-4A semifinals, Cercado led his BC squad with 28 points (5 threes) in their win over against Blue Mountain.
Chase Coleman Chase Coleman 6'2" | PG Rocktop Academy | 2024 PA – 6’1″ / Junior / Plymouth Whitemarsh / NY Rens / Combo Guard: This 3-level scoring guard has become one of the fastest rising 2024 prospects in the region. In “P-Dub’s” District 1-6A semifinal victory over Lower Merion last night, Coleman (19 points) was once again the leading scorer. Against LM, Coleman got his points in transition as well as by using his mid-range stop and pop game. He also delivered 4 or 5 creative dimes to teammates. Coleman is averaging 22.6 points per contest during District action.
Donovan Fromhartz Donovan Fromhartz 6'5" | SF Downingtown West | 2025 State PA – 6’4″ / Sophomore / Downingtown West / Philly Pride National / Small Forward: Despite 15 points (1 three) from Fromhartz last night, D-West suffered a disappointing loss to Spring Ford in the District 1-6A semifinals. Fromhartz is considered one of the top 2025 stretch-4 prospects in SEPA and he provided further evidence of that fact during District play. Across three District games, Fromhartz averaged 15 points and 1.5 made triples per game.
Kmari Smith Kmari Smith 6'2" | CG West Chester Henderson | 2024 PA – 6’1″ / Senior / WC Henderson / 610 City / Combo Guard: Smith is a multi-dimensional guard who can push the transition game and direct a team in the half -court. As a bonus, he can put points on the board in a variety of ways. On Tuesday Smith registered 23 points on the strength of 4 made threes, as Henderson defeated Haverford in the District 1-6A playback round.
