The first annual @PrepHoopsTN JV Camp featured ambitious, young hoopers, aged 2027-2025.  For the rest of the spring, we will be featuring the campers with evaluations and measurements from the day, February 19th, 2023.

NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2023 Magic Markelle Fultz

Skilled guard. He demonstrated a lot of patience during the camp. His poise is admirable. Good lateral mobility. He should be able to guard the 1-2 positions throughout high school.

Jaxson Alcorn Jaxson Alcorn Jaxson Alcorn 6'2" | SG Clinton Middle | 2027 TN | 6’1″ | Clinton Middle | 2027

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2027
  • Height — 6’2″
  • 3/4 Court Sprint — 3.6, 3.5
  • Lane Agility — 12.80, 12.00
  • Camp Ranking — #13

Ty Gibbs Ty Gibbs Ty Gibbs 5'10" | SG Grace Christian-Franklin | 2025 State TN

NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2022 Blazers Matisse Thybulle

Shot comes off a little flat. High energy player. Enthusiastic. Loves the game. Must keep at the explosion training. For example, invest time with plyometrics. Developing even better body control will enable him to even more effectively utilize the speed and quickness. Aggression is hit-and-miss. When fully engaged, he is a dynamic scorer. Good guard size. Nimble enough to play two or three positions eventually.

Christian Garrison Bright Christian Garrison Bright Christian Garrison Bright 6'3" | SF Green Hill | 2027 TN | PF | Mt. Juliet Middle | 2027

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2027
  • 3/4 Court Sprint — 3.6, 3.7
  • Lane Agility — 13.3, 12.7
  • PrepHoopsTN Jv Camp All-Star
  • Camp Ranking — #4

NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2022 Timberwolves Karl-Anthony Towns

Really soft touch. Baby soft. His fluidity is very impressive for the young age. Handles ok in the pocket, but when trying to pace he gets a little loose.

De’avion Lovelace De’avion Lovelace De’avion Lovelace 5'8" | PG Cleveland | 2026 State TN | PG | Cleveland | 2026

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2026
  • Point Guard
  • 3/4 Court Sprint — 3.4, 3.2
  • PrepHoopsTN Jv Camp All-Star
  • Camp Ranking — #3

NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2023 Pistons Jaden Ivey

Super fluid. His shot was erratic to begin the day, but just before lunch he find his rhythm and became one of the better shooters in the gym. Way too timid defensively. At teams sheepish even. Considering his first-step quickness he needs to embrace the contact and get his body in front of dribblers. Comes alive on the offensive end.

Trey Guthrie Trey Guthrie Trey Guthrie 6'5" | PF Waverly Central | 2026 State TN | PF | Houston County | 2026

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2026
  • Power Forward
  • 3/4 Court Sprint — 3.6, 3.6
  • Lane Agility — 13.2, 12.7
  • PrepHoopsTN Jv Camp All-Star
  • Camp Ranking — #8
  • State Ranking — Top 30

NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2022 Cavaliers Tristan Thompson

Beyond 10′, the shot of Trey Guthrie Trey Guthrie Trey Guthrie 6'5" | PF Waverly Central | 2026 State TN is a long way off.  His power and explosiveness in the lane are above average for his grade.  Guthrie makes an impact offensively. Attacks with urgency.  Guthrie’s defense is great under the rim.  Possibly still growing.
