The first annual @PrepHoopsTN JV Camp featured ambitious, young hoopers, aged 2027-2025.  For the rest of the spring, we will be featuring the campers with evaluations and measurements from the day, February 19th, 2023.

Andrew Miolen Andrew Miolen Andrew Miolen PG Cleveland | 2025 State TN | 5’9″ PG/SG | Cleveland | 2025

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2025
  • 5’9″
  • 3/4 Court Sprint — 3.3, 3.4
  • Camp Ranking — #15
  • State Ranking — Top 150

NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2023 Mavericks Jaden Hardy

Fundamental.  Gets to his spots comfortably.  Andrew is a solid shooter off-the-dribble. Needs to become a more creative passer.  Increasing his perimeter shooting percentage will help make him a truly well-rounded offensive threat.

Ty Gibbs Ty Gibbs Ty Gibbs 5'10" | SG Grace Christian-Franklin | 2025 State TN | 5’10” SG | Grace Christian (Franklin) | 2025

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2025
  • Height — 5’10”
  • 3/4 Court Sprint — 3.6, 3.5
  • Lane Agility — 12.80, 12.00
  • PrepHoopsTN Jv Camp All-Star
  • Camp Ranking — #5
  • State Ranking — Top 120

Ty Gibbs Ty Gibbs Ty Gibbs 5'10" | SG Grace Christian-Franklin | 2025 State TN

NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2022 Knicks Josh Hart

Dribbles competently with either hand. Needs to get bigger in the chest/shoulders, so that he can set more firm screens and handle contact under the basket. Uses his length well on defense. He plays defense quite well without fouling.

Ty Gibbs Ty Gibbs Ty Gibbs 5'10" | SG Grace Christian-Franklin | 2025 State TN plays varsity baseball for Grace Christian.

Nathan Russell Nathan Russell Nathan Russell 6'4" | SG Powell | 2025 State TN | SG | Powell | 2025

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2025
  • 3/4 Court Sprint — 3.5, 3.4
  • Lane Agility — 12.30, 11.80
  • PrepHoopsTN Jv Camp All-Star
  • Camp Ranking — #7
  • State Ranking — Top 110

NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2022 Timberwolves D’Angelo Russell

Nathan is a good shooter in need of two or three breakdown moves. If he can figure out a way to consistently create separation, then he can become a volume scorer. Gambles a bit too often defensively. He defends with hunger and loves to trap. Perhaps he is able to trap more effectively within the structure of a team-installed defense where rotations behind him exist. During the JV Vamp Nathan was exposed too often in the two-on-two attacking drill just because he tried to double the ball over and over. In high school he will be able to guard the 1-3. After high school the projection is probably a “2” with sporadic defense of the point guard. He does not have the height currently to stop a small college wing above 6-foot-5. Left-handed. Touch around the rim. Likes to pass out of the double. Understands post spacing. Post up with discipline.

Jaden Butler Jaden Butler Jaden Butler 5'9" | PG Chattanooga Central | 2025 State TN | 5’9″ PG | Chattanooga Central | 2025

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2025
  • Point Guard
  • 5’9″
  • 3/4 Court Sprint — 3.3, 3.4
  • Lane Agility — 12.70, 12.00
  • Camp Ranking — #14
  • State Ranking — Top 135

NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2023 Hornets Dennis Smith Jr.

Fast without the ball.  Needs to expand his shooting range.  Very fast with the basketball. Jaden plays great at high speeds.   He can handle at the level required for a large school high school point guard.  Crossover is quick. Behind-the-back is effortless. Butler will always be best with ball, but he needs to become a vocal leader.  To become the true point man, Butler should direct traffic and become the proverbial coach on the floor.

Brian Ailey Brian Ailey Brian Ailey 6'3" | SG Knoxville Christian | 2025 State TN | SG | Knoxville Christian | 2025

How did he measure against the competition?

  • Class of 2025
  • Shooting Guard
  • 3/4 Court Sprint — 3.5, 3.4
  • Lane Agility — 12.3, 12.6
  • Camp Ranking — #8
  • State Ranking — Top 105

NBA Stylistic Comparison: 2022 Clippers Nicholas Batum

Touch is great when catching. Percentage drops fast when he dribbles into it. Tough around the rim, but not efficient there just yet. Long strides. Spotty finishing around the rim. His best skill is hitting the corner three-pointer. Repeatable form. Very, high release. Great catch-and-shoot threat. Needs to develop his slashing game a lot.
