JoMarques Henderson
Jo had a big weekend playing with the RL9 UA Rise 16U squad. He had a huge statement making performance last game against Bayou City Hoops 16u and had impact on both ends of the court. Henderson showed great lateral quickness and effective decision making on offense all tournament. JoMarques is a certified shooter behind the arc and is often able to easily skate past his defender to the basket and either throw down a powerful slam at the basket or get to the rim with a variety of euro steps or post moves. Henderson will look to be one of the focal points for RL9 heading forward into the summer and should continue to keep his momentum rising skyward.
Demorae Pritchett
Demorae Pritchett
Demorae had a great overall tournament performance this weekend showcasing all of his talents on the court. Pritchett showed the ability to hit shots in the clutch and drive to the basket when put on an island. He is also very vocal on defense as a focal point of a physical DN Houston squad that likes to play scrappy and speed the pace up. Demorae also was effective bringing the ball down the floor and setting up teammates for good open looks as well as crashing the glass for game changing rebounds. Pritchett plays on the Summer Creek JV team and looks to have a big season coming up in the fall as well as making sure his hot streak continues through the grassroots period.
Jace came up clutch for his Houston Flight Squad in some games this weekend as they went to toe to toe and captured a win over Bayou City Hoops 17u Mac and lost by 9 in a close, physical game to Team Evolution. Jeffries shows his capability as a playmkaing point guard every game he is on the floor, never hesitating to make the extra pass to an open teammate or score the ball when needed. Jace has also developed a consistent jumper from beyond the arc and also is effective in pulling up around the midrange area as well. Despite his size, Jeffries has that “dog” personality where he will do whatever is asked of him when he is on the court and never shies away from a challenge. Jace will continue to make his name known with Flight this summer as the season progresses.
Robert Greene Jr
Robert Greene Jr
Mr. Robert Greene had an outstanding OTR tournament this weekend, playing up on the 17u squad and looking right at home. Greene showcased his shot creating ability, using a number of various dribble moves to separate himself from his defender and drain pullup jumpers as well as show speed off the dribble, blazing by his matchup to the basket whenever necessary. Robert was always heads up on keeping his teammates involved in the action as well, averaging several assists per game. Greene shows great potential coming from Iowa Colony High School as he is only a sophomore in the 2025 class and will just continue to improve his skills over time. It is safe to say that Robert definitely made his presence known to the city during this high level tournament.
