Bishop McNamara, Shabach Christian Academy, St. Andrew’s and Mt. Zion Prep Academy all punched their ticket to the Final Four, which will take place at Takoma Academy on Sunday for 12:00pm and 1:45pm tip-offs.
For this article, we’ll look at the seniors who took advantage of the stage.
Jeremiah Quigley Jeremiah Quigley 5'9" | PG Bishop McNamara | 2023 State MD | Bishop McNamara (Fairleigh Dickinson)
Quigley was spectacular in McNamara’s 64-60 victory over DeMatha. The Fairleigh Dickinson commit led the way with 29 points on 8-of-17 shooting from the field. His ability to find ways to get into the paint is impressive and once he gets there, he can stop on a dime for pull-ups, floaters or dishes into tight windows as he sets up teammates. He continuously put pressure on the rim was rewarded with trips to the free-throw line where he went 12-of-16.
Isaiah Arnold Isaiah Arnold 6'2" | PG DeMatha | 2023 State MD | DeMatha (Augusta)
Arnold caught fire in the third quarter of the contest by drilling four three’s to keep DeMatha in strong position of controlling the outcome. He did a great job of making himself available around the arc as McNamara’s zone defense shifted where he’d catch the ball shot-ready from a few feet beyond the line. Arnold has the makings of being the next great DMV addition for Augusta as he finished with 18 points in the loss.
Jase Mosely | Riverdale Baptist
St. Andrew’s and Riverdale Baptist went head-to-head in a classic that ended with a buzzer-beating three by senior guard Conor Robertson. It was my first time seeing Mosely and I walked away impressed with his ability to score from three and in the mid-range. He’s a 6’6 lefty who went off for 26 points in 27 minutes while hauling in six rebounds. Messiah’s entire coaching staff was in attendance for Mosely, who could be an instant impact player for that level.
Tyler Perkins Tyler Perkins 6'4" | SG Landon | 2023 State #268 Nation MD | Landon (Penn)
Perkins capped off what has been a tremendous senior season with a tough loss to Shabach Christian. Perkins found himself in early foul trouble that led to minimal minutes in the first half, but once the second half rolled around he began asserting himself offensively. He’d finish with a stat line of 19 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.
Kevon Corley Kevon Corley 6'6" | SF Shabach Christian Academy | 2023 State MD | Shabach Christian
Corley was super effective in rim-running scenarios. On his catches around the dunker’s spot in a half court setting, he also converted with efficiency as displayed by his 10-of-14 shooting that led to 24 points. He was diligent on the glass as he grabbed nine rebounds and while he didn’t record any blocks, his presence altered many layups throughout the game.
Kennard Davis Kennard Davis 6'0" | PG Shabach Christian Academy | 2023 State MD | Shabach Christian
Davis’ two-way impact was evident in this one as the 6’1 guard harassed opposing ball handlers, kept his team in their preferred up-tempo pace and converted on his looks when they presented. He compiled a loaded stat line of nine points, eight assists, five rebounds and five assists.
Ibrahim Robinson Ibrahim Robinson 6'4" | SF Shabach Christian Academy | 2023 State MD | Shabach Christian
Another active two-way player on the Eagles was Robinson. He possesses good size and length at 6’5 paired with a well-rounded offensive repertoire. He was a force in transition opportunities and was a constant presence on the glass. Whether or not he was securing rebounds, his activity made plays available to others. Robinson scored 15 points on an efficient 7-of-9 from the field to go with six rebounds, and two assists in the win.
Fallou Koite Fallou Koite 6'5" | SF Mt. Zion | 2023 State MD | Mt. Zion Prep Academy
One day after erupting for 20 second half points in their opening round matchup against Good Counsel, Koite came up huge again for the Warriors off the bench scoring 14 points and collecting six rebounds. He connected on three triples and finished a couple of crucial layups while absorbing contact in the fourth quarter.
