These players had the chance to show fans of other teams and visiting coaches that they are capable of playing on the next level. In this Prep Hoops exclusive, we will take a look at seniors who participated in Marsh Madness and are intriguing for coaches to look at for the next level.
Braylan McNeal Braylan McNeal 6'6" | SF Ruston | 2023 State LA (6’6″ / Ruston)
The Ruston forward proved that he is a player who can perform multiple duties on the floor in their loss to Ponchatoula. He is a rebounding forward who can score around the basket on one possession and then bring the ball up and facilitate the offense on the next. McNeal also has a touch from outside which shows that he is a forward who can do multiple things and fill multiple positions.
Kamron Coleman Kamron Coleman 6'8" | PF Wossman | 2023 State LA (6’8″ / Wossman)
Coleman is the epitome of an energy guy. He is a player that does not need plays run for him to be effective. Coleman crashes the glass well and can score by tip-ins and put backs. He is long, wiry, and has a little bit of a mean streak which helps him protect the rim. Sometimes he even dominates the paint. Coleman is definitely a player to look at for the next level.
Draven Smith Draven Smith 6'5" | SF French Settlement | 2023 State LA (6’5″ / French Settlement)
Smith is a player who has constantly improved and is not even a finished product despite averaging 25 (pts) and 11 (rebounds) this season. He has turned himself into a three level scorer with an improved touch from three who can also post players of various sizes or take players off the dribble. Anyone who signs this player will get a steal.
Jalan Washington Jalan Washington 6'1" | CG White Castle | 2023 State LA (6’2″ / White Castle)
The White Castle senior is a guard who can do multiple things on the floor. Washington is good at facilitating the offense for his team and slashing to the goal for finishes. He is a high IQ player who usually sees plays before they happen. Washington raised his scoring average to 18 as well. His versatility is what will be enticing to coaches.
Terrance James Terrance James 6'4" | SF Gibsland-Coleman | 2023 State LA (6’5″ / Gibsland-Coleman)
James has finished as one of the best players in this class. He is a player who can score from multiple levels while defending the paint and protecting the rim on the opposite end. James is not afraid to attack the rim and is stronger than a lot of guards/wings so he takes contact well. He is a player that will only get better on the next level.
Decedric Webb Decedric Webb 6'5" | SF Huntington | 2023 State LA (6’5″ / Huntington)
Webb may be the most athletic finisher on the Louisiana high school scene. He is a tough cover because he has a motor that is always on go and he runs the floor better than a lot of guards. His jump shot is still improving and Webb is excellent when he can drive and spin off defenders. Webb is a wing who can rebound and finish like a power forward.
Mason Guillory Mason Guillory 6'3" | PG St. Thomas More | 2023 State LA (6’4 / St. Thomas More)
Guillory is a point guard who can see over smaller guards for passes as well as make them pay by driving past them to the lane. He has a high basketball IQ and is good at getting the ball to the player that needs to have it. His size, strength, and passing ability are very intriguing for a point guard at the next level.
Now that the season is over, we will see many of these players beginning with the LHSBCA all star game. Colleges will also have a ton of workouts as well which means these guys will be at various workouts. Look for these seniors to be sought after during this recruiting season.
