ROUND 1
This is a 12 team tournament consisted of teams from the KingCo and Metro conference’s. There will be separate articles about those respective brackets. The top 4 seeds got byes in the first round and the first round will be loser out games. For this first round we had 5th seed Liberty (Renton) played 12th seed Bishop Blanchet, Liberty (Renton) would win 66-57. 6th seed O’Dea played 11th seed Nathan Hale, O’Dea would win easily 93-60. 7th seed Seattle Prep played against 10th seed Lakeside (Seattle), with Seattle Prep winning 60-49. For the last game of the round we had 8th seed West Seattle playing 9th seed Mercer Island, West Seattle would win 60-41. Mercer Island, Nathan Hale, Lakeside (Seattle), Bishop Blanchet would all see their seasons end. Seattle Prep, Liberty (Renton), O’Dea, and West Seattle would advance to round 2.
ROUND 2
Now after round 2 it will be double elimination, with the article being split into a “winners side” and a “losers side.” The “winners side”, (meaning they have yet to lose) and the “losers side” (meaning the have lost once and all games are win or go home). Now for round 2, we had top seed Eastside Catholic facing 8th seed West Seattle. Eastside Catholic would win 54-48. 2nd seed Bellevue played 7th seed Seattle Prep, with Bellevue winning 51-36. 3rd seed Rainer Beach matched up against 6th seed O’Dea, O’Dean would win 74-58. 4th seed Garfield faced Liberty (Renton), Garfield would win 75-43. Garfield, O’Dea, Bellevue, and Eastside Catholic would advance. Liberty (Renton), Rainer Beach, Seattle Prep, and West Seattle would advance to loser out games in round 3.
ROUND 3
For the winners side of round 3 we had the semi-final round. Number 2 Bellevue would play 6th seed O’Dea, with O’Dea winning the game 66-57. Number 1 seed Eastside Catholic played 4th seed Garfield, Eastside Catholic would win 54-49. Garfield and Bellevue will play each other in the losers side in round 4 for the 3rd/4th place game.
The losers side consisted of 2 games. 3rd seed Rainier Beach played 7th seed Seattle Prep, with Rainier Beach winning 56-52. 5th seed Liberty (Renton) went against 8th seed West Seattle, with West Seattle winning it 72-49. Liberty (Renton) and Seattle Prep would have their seasons end, Rainier Beach and West Seattle would advance to the losers side in round 4 to play each other for 5th and 6th place.
ROUND 4
For the winners side of this round, we had the 3A district 2 championship game. 1 seed Eastside Catholic faced off against 6th seed O’Dea, with Eastside Catholic winning 65-59. Eastside Catholic would finish 1st and O’Dea would finish 2nd but both teams would advance to state.
In the losers side for this round, we had the 3rd/4th place game. This was played between 2nd seed Bellevue and 4th seed Garfield. Garfield would win 62-45, placing 3rd place and Bellevue would place 4th. Both teams would advance to state. We also had the 5th/6th place game that was played between 3rd seed Rainer Beach and 8th seed West Seattle. Rainier Beach would win 71-58 and place 5th, West Seattle would finish 6th.
