College Commitment – Adam Wolfe (2023 Valley Catholic)
There was no question that Adam Wolfe Adam Wolfe 6'3" | SG Valley Catholic | 2023 State OR wanted to play collegiate basketball. Senior year at Valley Catholic certainly presented a number of challenges though as the hard-nosed 6-foot-2 guard seemingly had to fight through adversity after adversity. He stayed strong both on and off the court though and his persistence paid off. An opportunity to join the roster at Whitman arose and it really didn’t take long for Wolfe to know where his hoops playing career would take him.
“First I really like that they are a winning program, so I will be competing at the top of the conference each year,” Wolfe said. “Also they are a really strong academic school which was another huge piece of it. It is only 4 hours away and they play a lot of schools in Oregon so my parents watch me play most of my games.”
“Also I feel like their play style, and coaching style suits me well,” Wolfe added. “When I got the offer I didn’t really have to think twice about where I would go I kind of just knew, especially after visiting.”
Wolfe went into the season with high hopes, but nagging injuries and inconsistent playing time for a brand new coach in a brand new system led to some struggles, and his resulting averages of 4.1 points and 3.5 rebounds weren’t necessarily overwhelming. But one thing Wolfe always displayed was a willingness to work and play hard on both ends, and it’s that quality that helped him earn the roster spot with the Blues – an opportunity he knows he’ll need to spend plenty of time this off-season to prepare himself for.
“Continuing to lift consistently, being able to shoot off the move at game speed, and being able to defend players that are better than me are the biggest things,” Wolfe said.
Our congratulations go out to Wolfe and his family on his commitment.
