They only have All-District Teams, District 5 and District 6. In this article, we are looking at the 10 players who were selected to the All-District 6 Team.
Medina-Pingree-Buchanan beat South Border 54-42 in the District 6 Championship game. The Thunder went on to win the Region 3 Championship over Ellendale. The Thunder lost in the opening round at State to Beulah. It was a wild run for MPB, we will see if they can bounce back for a win today in Bismarck.
Corey Bader from South Border was named District 6 Coach of the Year.
Trenton Erbele Trenton Erbele 6'2" | SF Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter | 2023 State ND from Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter was named District 6 Senior Athlete of the Year.
Teams in District 6: Kidder County, Linton/HMB, Medina-Pingree/Buchanan, Napoleon, G-S, South Border, Strasburg/Zeeland.
All-District 6
Grant Bosch (2023) |6’4 PF| Linton/HMB
12.4 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 2.8 apg, 83 FT%. He is a good-sized post and an overall physical player. Grant protects the rim and does good work on the glass. He is a grinder that pursues the ball well off the rim. Bosch scored plenty of points with O-boards putbacks. He also has a nice jump shot. Bosch can spread the floor and cash in the occasional 3-ball. He might be a physical forward but Bosch is also a willing passer.
Jace Jochim Jace Jochim 6'2" | SG Linton/HMB | 2024 State ND (2024) |6’1 G| Linton/HMB
14.1 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2 apg, 74 FT%, 50 made 3’s. He is a major threat from the 3-point arc. Jochim’s range goes out deep! I have seen him go off from beyond the arc. In the playoffs, he was hitting from college & NBA depth. I really like his pull-up game, Jace gets excellent elevation on his jumper. His shooting mechanics look like they came directly from a basketball manual. On defense, Jace anticipates well and this leads to tipped passes, TO’s, and blocked shots. Jochim may come in under the radar next year, but I think he will be one of the top guards in Class B next season.
Jace Larson (2023) |6’1 SF| Kidder County
He is listed as a forward on the roster but Larson had the ball in his hands often. He helped break the press and move the ball against the zone. I like how Larson took what the defense gave him, Jace can slash left or right and make plays off the bounce. Larson is an opportunistic scorer that will put in buckets off O-board putbacks. He did the majority of his scoring in the paint but also hit 3-pointers.
Josh Moser Josh Moser 6'1" | SG Medina-Pingree-Buchanan | 2023 State ND (2023) |6’0 G| Medina-Pingree/Buchanan
16.8 ppg, 7.9 rpb, 53 FG%, 76 FT%. He helped the Thunder win District 6 and the Region 3 Championship. I like the looks of Moser’s jump shot. He can knock down J’s from deep, mid-range, and in the paint. Moser is a two-way player and a hard worker on the glass. He is a grinder on defense and he will leave it all on the floor. Good luck to Moser and the Thunder at State in the next two days.
Kaden Bader Kaden Bader 5'11" | CG South Border | 2024 State ND (2024) |5’11 G| South Border
He is not afraid to stick his nose into a scrum and battle for the rock. Bader looks to be an accurate 3-point shooter and a zone-buster. He helps space the floor and draw attention away from BIG man Schmidt. Kaden looks to be deadly from the corners. I like how quickly he sets his feet when catching and shooting. Bader and Schmidt will be a nice inside-out punch next year.
Rylen Wick Rylen Wick 6'6" | SF Medina-Pingree/Buchanan | 2024 State ND (2024) |6’5 F| Medina-Pingree/Buchanan
16.8 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 68 FT%. He helped the Thunder win District 6 and the Region 3 Championship. He is lanky with long arms. Wick has a good feel for the game and he can play inside & out. I like him in the pick-n-roll game. Wick is also a skilled passer. Look out, because Wick can also cash in from 3-point land. Rylen is a hustler and grinder that produces on the glass. Good luck to Moser and the Thunder at State in the next two days.
Trace King Trace King 5'11" | SG Linton/HMB | 2023 State ND (2023) |6’0 G| Linton/HMB
8.6 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.1 apg, 1.7 spg, 34 made 3’s. He is a hustler with quick hands. King reads eyes on defense and this creates turnovers. He is a fundamental player with basketball instincts. Trace is a well-rounded player and he can also stretch the floor and knockdown the triple. King does good work in the catch-n-shoot game.
Trenton Erbele Trenton Erbele 6'2" | SF Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter | 2023 State ND (2023) |6’2 F| Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter
District 6 Senior Athlete of the Year! Trenton is solid, strong, and tough. He is a well-built player and he does not back away from contact. If you like physical forwards, you will like watching Erbele. Trenton was very effective with his mid-range game. He also scored around the hoop and was productive on the boards. The Imperials went as Erbele went.
Trevor Moos Trevor Moos 6'4" | PF Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter | 2024 State ND (2024) |6’3 F| Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter
He is an impressive athlete that can make a ton of plays on both ends of the floor. Trevor makes things happen off the bounce and he stands out as a slasher. Moos is also an athletic finisher at the rack. He is a bit raw yet, but Moos has the potential to be a scary player next season.
Trevor Schmidt Trevor Schmidt 6'5" | SF South Border | 2024 ND (2024) |6’4 SF| South Border
He has long arms and this leads to deflections, steals, and blocked shots. I like how he goes straight up, walls up to the rim, and alters/blocks shots. Schmidt battles around the rim and fights for position. Trevor scores down low but can also catch on the arc, square up, and smoke the triple. He runs the floor well and can handle the ball in the open court. Schmidt had a nice season and he will be an extra-tough matchup in Class B next season.
