The game was played at Aberdeen Central’s AA gym and I think this impacted the offense in this game. A gym with a deep background and floor hoops.
Players still made plays and showed long frames and some skill to back it up.
I was live-tweeting the game, so that causes me to miss a few plays throughout a game.
Let’s look at some things in a quick-hitter, that stood out from the top prospects and some key role playing prospects for Aberdeen Christian.
Ethan Russell Ethan Russell 6'6" | SF Aberdeen Christian | 2023 State SD was one I was anticipating. He got into some early foul trouble, with three early ones. Finished the game with 6 points with 3 boards. Russell still flashed his long and athletic frame with some obvious skill to him at that size. A 1,000 point scorer that dazzled with this move below:
Russell is clearly a prospect to watch in Aberdeen at state. It seemed Ipswich made it a point to put some extra attention on Russell, in terms of making him work for everything.
Jamestown commit, Malek Wieker Malek Wieker 6'0" | CG Aberdeen Christian | 2023 State SD , made some plays and showed ball-handling, ball security, and the ability to score. Only 1 of 8 from three, but that three he hit was a big one. Overall, 4 of 12 from the field for 11 points, 7 boards, and two steals.

got the job done in this matchup. He hit 3 of 5 from deep and finished with a double-double (14 points, 12 rebounds). Had a crucial 5 offensive boards in a game where every possession had importance.
Kaden Clark has had more productive games, as a key piece to AC’s success as a team. It’s clear he wants to win and will get the ball where it needs to go. He’ll battle in the interior and showed some toughness. High IQ prospect that will be leaned on in the state tournament.
6’4” 2024 prospect, Joey Johnson, was impactful in this game. Scored 9 points on an efficient 4-7 from the field, knocking down a three. Has good overall size and served as a rim-protector as well, with 2 blocks in the game.
Konnar Furman Konnar Furman 6'6" | SF Aberdeen Christian | 2025 State SD is a 2025 6’5” guard/wing with two upside years, after the conclusion of this season. A prospect to watch in the tournament, and especially in the future. Prep Hoops gave him a shout-out:
