The Comets gave Bondurant-Farrar all they could handle early on as their defense was causing fits for Fried and co. The second half put forward by Fried helped turn the tables and guide the undefeated Blue Jays to the 3A title game Friday night. Fried gathered big rebound after big rebound in the final 16 minutes. He also put together an outstanding tutorial on how post defense should be played. His big steal and 2 hand dunk late 3rd quarter were 2 of his 15 points to go along with 8 rebounds.
A certified shooter, Postel knocked down 4 first half 3s for the Comets as they turned up the pressure on the Blue Jays early on. You cannot go under on a ballscreen against Postel, as Bondurant-Farrar learned the hard way, as he promptly pulled the trigger behind the ballscreen with ease. The junior guard ended his junior campaign with a game high 16 points and sets himself up for a nice offseason of growth.
Xavier advanced to the 3A title game behind a complete performance from Senior Aidan Yamilkoski Aidan Yamilkoski 6’4″ | SG Xavier | 2023 State IA . The 6’4 forward had a big transition and 1 early in the ballgame as the teams were trading blows. His shooting touch was out for everyone to see as he nailed a midrange jumper and a few shots from deep as well. His final stat line read 6 rebounds to go along with a team high 21 points, 7-8 from the free throw line.
Kuehl stepped into a deep 3 pointer to start the game, and that was just the initial starting point of his shooting display he showcased on the big stage. He also stop and popped behind a ballscreen 3 in the 2nd half and fired ahead an impressive lead pass with fantastic touch for an easy Crusader 2 points. Kuehl is shifty with the ball in his hands and presents a difficult task of staying in front to any defender. The senior culminated his high school career with a game high 26 points and 5 rebounds. rn
Few players showcased their skills ad game at a higher level than Noll did in his 2 games this week at Wells Fargo Arena. The 6’8 forward conistently rebounded and then pushed the ball in transition with incredible ease and patience to setup teammates that you’d see from a savvy point guard. He has a great face up game and used it to put a 15 footer threw the botttom of the net. 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists tell the tail of Noll’s all-around game and superb performance Thursday afternoon. rn
